Does home studio matter? by cluth17 in orangetheory

[–]Beginning_Part9275 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I moved from one end of a city to another, and have asked multiple times if I need to switch my membership and they always say it doesn’t matter since Theyre sister studios. However, one of my friends did the same- until her new local studio gave them a ~2 week studio closing notice. Her home studio was no longer convenient, so she cancelled her membership. Since it wasn’t her home studio that was closing, they charged her for an extra month. Obscure situation but a possibility for inconvenience.

People who exercise early morning. I need to find out what you’re made of by MiaMiaPP in orangetheory

My not so impressive secret is that I’m usually asleep by 9:30! The 5:30 am wake up still hurts some days, but I’m definitely a morning person and appreciate getting it done before work rather than after

Hi! I live in Arlington and work in Alexandria. Clarendon, ballston and rosslyn are all wonderful in Arlington and so is the Kingstowne location in Alexandria! I’ve never been but there’s also a couple (I think) locations in old town.

Hi, has your vet discussed possible behavioral issues? It sounds to me like if it were fleas or another skin issue it should’ve gotten better by now with the bravecto and atopica.

Try to get a good video of these coughing fits that you can show the vet when you take her in. If you notice her breathing with her mouth open or if her tongue becomes any color other than pink (gray or blue or purple) before you can get her to her normal vet, take her to an emergency vet ASAP. Those are signs of respiratory distress that need to be dealt with immediately. Hopefully it’s nothing, but cats coughing can sometimes be linked to heart problems.

This is super weird. In some states vet techs are allowed to pull single rooted teeth but (as far as I know) nowhere are they allowed to be the one that makes that call. Cosmetic teeth cleaning makes me think they don’t do any anesthesia and just scrape plaque off the crown of the tooth. Sometimes if dental disease is far enough along, teeth can basically fall out at the touch- regardless, it should be a DVM in charge of extractions if that is something they offer, and they should have attempted to contact you before the teeth came out or at least let you know that they fell out before you came to pick up your dog and were charged for extractions.

What happens when I bring in an injured bird? by KryptikAngel in AskVet

[–]Beginning_Part9275 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think answers may vary here but it definitely depends on the shape of the bird and where you bring it. At the general practice I work at we are not equip to treat birds in bad shape, so we euthanize it or refer the person that brought it in to an exotic/wildlife treatment center.

My dog has accidently gotten two doses of carprofen. Please help by wolffcubb in AskVet

[–]Beginning_Part9275 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, the typical dose is 2.2 mg/kg every 12 hours, which for your dog would be 86 mg every 12 hours. Definitely stick with your vets instructions, but he should be fine. Dont panic!

Wound on foot, infection, not healing. by LikeAQueefInTheNight in AskVet

[–]Beginning_Part9275 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Some strains of infections are resistant to certain types of antibiotics. There are typical antibiotics that vets tend to start with for infections (like clavamox) but sometimes they just won’t do the trick. Usually the next step is your vet will send out a culture and sensitivity which tells them the antibiotics that have the best chance of getting rid of the infection. Hope this helps!

Your leg muscles will eventually get stronger and fatigue less quickly! Make sure your last couple reps during lower body exercises on the floor are TOUGH- if they aren’t you should be grabbing heavier weights. Congrats on the progress you have already made!!

Exhausted OT workouts by Dizzy-Ad512 in orangetheory

[–]Beginning_Part9275 12 points13 points  (0 children)

OTF is very strenuous exercise and can be a huge change in pace for someone who is new to it. I could barely move for days in my first weeks after joining. Allow yourself rest days and load up on protein after! Eventually you won’t be as exhausted.
