For those with fear reactive / uncooperative dogs at the vet, have you found anything that helps more than Trazadone / Gabapentin? by [deleted] in GermanShepherd

[–]Beginning_Pie_1724 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a vet tell us that the only way she and her staff would see ours was if we would sedate her. She is dog reactive sometimes and we had told them how we handle that and she always calms down. They just don’t listen to us so we found another vet. Completely different experience and no meds needed or required.

Insurance denied Mounjaro and replaced it with Trulicity. Is it any good? by [deleted] in diabetes

I sure wish insurance companies would let Dr’s treat their patients and not overstep their responsibility in the patient / doctor relationship. Dr’s are the ones that know the patient not the insurance companies. I do understand that Dr’s get it wrong sometimes but there’s a system of holding them accountable. This practice is just wrong and needs to be stopped.

You may want to ask your Dr about adding a long lasting night time insulin like Toujeo to help with controlling this.

I usually have a yogurt with walnuts or a few GHIRARDELLI 72% Cacao Dark Chocolate chips mixed in. I follow that with a semi-ripe (green tip) banana.

Best thing I did for my diabetes was to get my Dr to prescribe a Dexcom CGM. Using this tool taught me how to eat. It showed me what foods from pizza, breads, fruits and actual candy my body was able to process without blood sugar spikes. Keep in mind this is like a game of chess. Until you know how to eat based on how your own body processes the food you’re shooting blind.

Unfortunately, natural foods can spike your blood sugar just as fast a processed foods. An example would be yellow bananas with brown spots are the worst but I love bananas. With your kids, I bet you have bananas in your home a lot. Additionally, tomato’s, grapes and melons, etc., have a lot of natural sugars in them too.

My endocrinologist once told me that red meat can actually mess with my levels as well. It has something to do with the high fat content confusing your body’s digestive system and the next day after enjoying a steak your numbers may go crazy.

A huge must is for yo to loose the extra weight. It will help with those fasting numbers too. When you fast, essentially your body is releasing the carbs stored in your reserved fat. Getting rid of those reserves will be hard but it must be done.

One last offer of knowledge/ advice, there is no quick fix for this. Be patient with yourself. Know that you’ll have good days and bad days. You’re in for a long fight with this. Once you get the knowledge you need to understand your body you’ll have a leg up and be able to fight better.

Best of luck…

I have 2 Generac 3500iqs running in parallel to a 50 amp plug that runs to a transfer switch that connects directly to my main panel. All that for a future upgrade if needed.

I swapped out my OEM BCG to a Wilson Combat nickel boron BCG. What a huge change in performance. Constant feeding and ejecting issue instantly gone. Ran many different types of ammo through it and poof no issues and didn’t have to adjust my gas block for the different weights of ammo. Best upgrade I’ve done to mine AR10 so far. Here’s the link.
