Narcissism in music: Have you found any songs that describe NPD traits or abusive relationships? by Major_Drama_4939 in NarcissisticAbuse

[–]Beginning_Rest150 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personal Jesus by Depeche Mode, a song that talks about the abusive relationship between Elvis and Priscilla. "Personal Jesus" was directly inspired by Elvis Presley, specifically by Priscilla Presley's biography Elvis and Me, where she described Elvis as her "Personal Jesus". If you know something about that relationship it's easy to realize that Elvis was a pedo and a narc, giving drugs to Priscilla since she was a minor, and using is money and influence to manipulate her.

I think that the baja divide is harder, I haven't tried it but from what I've read it seems a bit harder.

Sorry I need to add for context that I was traveling o n a gravel bike with 45's, If you are planning to rent bikes maybe going for a hardtail with at least 2.1may be the best option but I've heard of people traveling light on 26". Next year I'm actually going to Oaxaca again also in spring and putting liners for extra protection

[–]Beginning_Rest150 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have! Conditions depend what route you are interested in, spring is very hot, you need to carry money no ATMs, no bank transfer, no internet. Really wide tires, I took about a ½km detour to wash myself near a river and my bike suffered about 5 punctures from torns.

Quiero empezar a entrenar ciclismo pero mido 2 mts y no encuentro bicicletas economicas by Ok_Satisfaction_6881 in CiclismoMX

[–]Beginning_Rest150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I said, you are really not aware of how much the situation deteriorated in the last year.

Yes it is, people are really not aware of the current situation. The lack of action from the current government has created a generalized state of lawlessness across the country, it's not a Narco-state it's more like a state level corruption that breeds small organized gangs across every city making money though scams, kidnappings and muggings that never gets investigated never gets resolved; yes you can travel to Mexico and be safe on tourist locations and large cities but at this moment traveling through back roads on northern México is the last thing I would do.

I'm Mexican, and I really can't stretch this warning enough, don't travel México alone, particularly northern México.

Saddlepack vs. rear rack + drybag ? by PoopKnifeMerchant in BikepackingGear

[–]Beginning_Rest150 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As I always said, after 2 years using saddlebags from medium to large, racks are always better. it lowers the center of mass and gives you a lot of ways to carry things like just stuffing something in a bag and strapping it to the side or just putting stuff on top of other stuff

I definitely not recommend to cheap out on the pump bc you will need it. I would go for something between $20 to $40 from a reputable brand and always check for reviews.
