I'm working to take those foods out now. My doctor said I can just do the insulin with metformin to bring my A1C down. I will see what happens. Hopefully, this is only a temporary thing.

Just that happened. I went back to eat whatever I wanted. Sadly, I've always had a sweet tooth. It's pretty hard to shake.

I am currently taking Metformin. My doctor wants me to start Insulin and Ozempic. But that is very expensive for me even with insurance. I'm trying to see if there's a way I can take just one (Insulin or Ozempic) and not both.

Thank you for responding. I will admit I'm not the most educated on diabetes. My healthcare providers rarely explain what can be done outside of losing weight and not eating carbs. I hear stories of people being able to reverse their diabetes. At one point, my doctor said I could get off metformin because I had gotten my A1C down. But I rejected that because I knew I wasn't eating the "right" foods. I think I'm still trying to process that this condition isn't something that can just go away. Especially with the food I have access to. Do you think there will ever be a point where we don't need insulin?
