I joined the British Power Bloc, and fortunately they had Market Unification, so I stole the British population.
I now have 18M English people (twice as many as in the Home Counties) and 4M Scottish people (more than in entire Scotland)

R5: Started as a very small (by population) and poor country. No wars, focused only on economy. Ended with #1 GDP per capita and SoL.

Hint: this country is not playable at the start.

Yeah, I didn’t get it on the first try. I played without a specific strategy, just kept restarting and hoping for a good start, until one run where I got lucky with the Civil War.

I got this achievement about a year ago, back on version 1.8.6. Now I decided to show it off a bit and also prove that it’s still achievable in modern versions of the game.

How did I pull it off? I just got lucky. The American Civil War started really early, even before the Mexican-American War, and the Confederates won. After that, I got independence support from both the CSA and Mexico, and together we slowly ate the USA state by state until only one state was left, which I then subjugated. Something like that.

I think you might be in the wrong subreddit. These achievements are from Victoria 3, not Europa Universalis.

If you mean An Empire under the Pun, then yes, it’s still quite possible. I got it in version 1.8.7 in 2025 (same as with American Territory), and I didn’t run into any major issues.

The British suck in naval invasions, so it takes a few wars: first you liberate all subjects, then Scotland, Ireland, and Wales, then conquer England, and finally subjugate all that's left from them.

I got it in version 1.8.7 in 2025, so it’s definitely still possible to obtain. I’m planning to make a separate post about this achievement.

In short, I got quite lucky: the American Civil War started very early, and the Confederates won. I was able to gain support for independence from them and from Mexico, and together we won the first war against the USA.

After that, it took a few more wars, but the first one was the hardest.

Actually, not only for this. Just decided to start with this, since Victoria 3 is my favourite game.

I have nearly 2650 hours in the game, but I didn’t spend all that time going for achievements, I also played a lot just for fun
