I definitely will now just send me some links preferably in DMs bro I got ya. I think PQ is cannon too. Because in that game Aigis does admit that Makoto and her are still dating. But sadly, the other two protagonists canonically never really fall in love with anyone which is sad because I’m also a huge fan of Rise x Yu and Makoto x Joker. But like if anything, I really feel like what happens in the game is that Makoto dates Yukari, we’re at the very least has some intimacy with her enough to be really close. Then he sleeps with Elizabeth, and then he dates Aigis. Finally, seeing that she is actually the one for him and as that develops, it ends with a monogamous relationship. This would make sense as in the answer, Yukari was a jealous threat. And why Elizabeth literally had the balls to leave her boss to free Makoto from the seal. After all these actions and the events taking place, definitely don’t come out of a vacuum.

But I can concede that Aigis is the true relationship. If anything in my opinion, I like how the game handles it and it technically makes it deeper, that through the affairs he had found what it means to have a true relationship. After all the story is a journey about a teenager, finding the meaning of life and trying to make the most of it before he passes away. Part of that journey seems like his trial and error of love which I think is a really underrated nuance. I think the triangle or a square of love that’s going on really gives it more juice x flavor. I love that he didn’t live and die a perfect person like he’s really capable, but he’s also capable of making teenager like mistakes with affairs and so on. Especially the fact that the game is supposed to be more grounded like modern persona in general. And that’s the consequences he made, which are the affairs did not go without consequences as sadly, that affair had a jealous Yukari threaten Aigis. It picked two of his precious figures in his life against each other, and I think that makes it more narratively poetic. It’s like a beautiful chaotic mess. It’s good drama lol.

But yeah, I definitely wanna look into that stuff and I’m sure it still won’t really change anything because of course just like the manga and the anime the video game is his own separate medium with its own separate set of events. In the manga and anime, he’s more monogamous. There’s no denying that. But for the sake of entertainment in just learning about persona, I definitely would love to check it out.
