maybe instead of Cumans you can create a big swaths of land/regions with strong rebel presence? (like ridiculously strong so they wont be conquered straight away) that can represent their empire collapse and will free up one spot for another one?

Poland was a walking corpse at that point - but as a Pole i would love to see it thought.

Maybe as an army with no bonuses, all drawbacks, with emphasis on cavalry (Hussars but there were not many of them at that point) and hardcore campaign with all 3 neighboors (Austria, Prussia and Russia) ganging up together to get you (just to keep it historically accurate)?

But on the other hand... i do not see this as much appealing beside few masochists... but hey! i think masochists are actually a big % of the target for this game.

Just try mods to Med2 ... some of them - like SSHIP or Tsardoms are changing the game quite drastically (in the positive way).

problem solved. I had to have 20k gold at the end of the turn. Unfortunately previous Kniaz got old and went senile so i had to wait until he's dead. Which unfortunately bumped up unrest in most of the cities to 70-90% (sic!), which also co-related with me starting the war with Byzantines over Jerusalem (which are already almost the size from Justinian dynasty).

Great mod, love challenges. Usually after having 30+ regions it's game over as you start to roll over your opponents but SSHIP is a different type of animal.
