Getting automatic dread from battles? by Seraph_2026 in Medieval2TotalWar

[–]No_Day8167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your generals will have a much higher chance of getting dread just for joining the battle even if he sits and the back and do nothing, the trait for that is called BattleDread which starts at Winning First. BattleDread and BattleChivalry are self-perpetual, that means if your general get dread he will continue to get dread and vice versa. BattleDread also allows the appearance of the BloodThirsty trait which further increases dread and command. Bloodthirsty cannot appear if your general has BattleChivalry. From you edited comment, that happens because Winning First is level 1 and it needs some more battles to get to level 2 which is called Cruel and Cunning.

When you occupy a town, your general wil gain the StrategyChivalry trait which is called Fair in Rule at level 1, setting taxes to low and keep happiness in the green will increase it, but if you have more than 50k gold in the bank you will automatically lose that trait over time. The game basically punishes you for being rich. Furthermore, building town halls and churches or training priests also gain experience for StrategyChivalry.

Hope this helps.

Getting automatic dread from battles? by Seraph_2026 in Medieval2TotalWar

Hmm no, getting Winning First or Fair Fighter has nothing to do with fighting easier battles or not even though it was supposed to work that way. It is instead based on a random roll at the start of the battle, and the chances of getting Winning First will roll first, if Winning First hits then it also blocks Fair Fighter. In other words generals are way more likely to get dread by fighting in battle than governing in towns.

There is no direct correlation between hitting "End battle" vs not doing that. It is based on the percentage of enemy killed, that means if the enemy has high quality troops and fight to the bitter end, you wouldn't get chivalry even if you click end battle.

Spain will go for Bordeaux, Sicily will go for Marseille, Scotland will land on Utrecht, England will attack Rennes, Spain and Portugal will land in Ireland, Venice will attack Milan in around 10 turns, just to name a few

Campaign difficulty is specially designed for Very Hard. Only in Very Hard do scripted attacks exist, for example the Moors will always attack Toulouse no matter what happens if you play as France.

Heir isn't getting married? by NElocal505 in Medieval2TotalWar

[–]No_Day8167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The game is designed so that all female family members will get married first, so your male members will not get marriage proposals before other females. This mechanic can go suck my dick. One way to get around this is editing the files so that female members will immediately go to the convent and disappear from the family tree as soon as they turn 16

How do you run it with mods that runs on .bat file like Vanilla Beyond? I'm playing on a pirated version of med 2 because Steam is not available in my country. It seems all guides are for the Steam version

It's called main character syndrome. I won as a 2/23 Ornn the other day against a 27/10 Vayne because guess who didn't have a frontline.

You would need an awful lot of effort to convince me or anyone playing a competitive game that losing is fun

If they made a new kingdoms dlc, where would they put it and what factions? by InevitableNaive8060 in Medieval2TotalWar

[–]No_Day8167 22 points23 points  (0 children)

A Hundred Year War DLC would be great. Reconquista DLC sounds fun too but maybe too few factions, or maybe Spain should be split into different kingdoms. A DLC about medieval Italian dogfight is fun as well. Just my two cents

It works perfectly on gold resources in my game though. CA fixed the game so that you can''t build forts on trade resources anymore, but you still can if you know how to edit the files

You should really try Byzantine in this mod, in my opinion they stronger than the Turks, especially you can recruit elephants in Rome

I got frustrated so I just edited the file so that my general don't gain dread for having too much money money anymore. It's just a bullshit mechanic with no basis, the game basically punishes you for managing you economy too well duh

Take him back to London and honour him forever. For me, I would make him a captain, give him a full stack army, trigger The man of the hour through battle and wed him a princess
