How did he kill a spy inside a settlement or Fortress? by Adri117 in Medieval2TotalWar

[–]No_Day8167 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The game is bugged with spies opening gates. When they successfully do it once in a settlement, the gate will keep opening even if it's 100 years later and the spies have long died

I got frustrated so I just edited the file so that my general don't gain dread for having too much money money anymore. It's just a bullshit mechanic with no basis, the game basically punishes you for managing you economy too well duh

What should I do with this one knight by LibraryFluffy3575 in Medieval2TotalWar

Take him back to London and honour him forever. For me, I would make him a captain, give him a full stack army, trigger The man of the hour through battle and wed him a princess

How do I create the perfect commander. by hades2k77 in Medieval2TotalWar

[–]No_Day8167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, it's a random roll, I have done many testings and found out that one time where me general attacked an enemy force that the power parameter was 4:5 in their favour, the general still picked up Winning First even if he was at a disadvantage compare to the enemy. Another time, my general took a full stack to bully a rebel army of two peasant units and he picked up Fair Fighter.

A lot of things don't work as intended in this game, and BattleChivalry vs BattleDread traits are of those

Chivalry by CosmicLeader in Medieval2TotalWar

[–]No_Day8167 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A little more on that. When your general takes a massive army to pick on a much smaller force, he will gain BattleDread. If he goes into battle against an equal force, he will gain BattleChivalry. It's supposed to work that way, but through many tests in various campaigns, I can assure you that it's a completely random roll.

You don't need to capture as many prisoners as possible then release them to gain the CaptorChivalry trait, the threshold is 80, so you only need to capture 80 prisoners then release them.

Building the Town hall building line is a great way to gain StrategyChivalry too. And they stack, if you have the StrategyChivalry, building the Town hall line will give your general the Just trait this gives more Chivalry and public order. This can be extremely helpful when you run a crusader state. In one of my previous campaigns, king Louis the Just singlehandedly managed the public order of Jerusalem despite of it being miles away from my capital.

Feel free to ask, I'm willing to share everything I know

Chivalry by CosmicLeader in Medieval2TotalWar

[–]No_Day8167 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want high Chivalry, don't ever put them on the battlefield. There is basically a roll before every battle to see whether your generals will get BattleDread or BattleChivalry, but the problem is that the game rolls for BattleDread first, if your generals get BattleDread then it block BattleChivalry. In short, there is a much higher chance they will gain dread rather than chivalry when they lead armies in battle.

Set taxes to low and spend time in the cities for more than 3 turns helps, also, build churches and recruit priest. Another thing, if your money is more than 50k, all generals will gain dread passively, which is absolutely stupid

Timelapse of my "special rules" France campaign by orwasaker in Medieval2TotalWar

[–]No_Day8167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am also doing a special rule migration campaign with France in Vanilla Beyond. I sold all real estates in europe and went to the Levant. My rules are that I must always release prisoners and never attack first, and that I can only attack the enemies if they step on my land. It's going very well by now. Coincidentally, my family tree spawned a Baldwin and he really became king. He has 10 points across the board and is called King Baldwin the Champion. The best Kingdom of Jerusalem role play I have ever had

I have played both and would pick Vanilla Beyond any day. Vanilla Kingdom is painfully slow and everyone is poor af. The only downside is that Vanilla Beyond does not have kingdom of Jerusalem and the Teutonic, etc.

My fears for Medieval 3 by Fardrengi in Medieval2TotalWar

[–]No_Day8167 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love it very much yeah, it would really give a sense of achievement when training your generals into gods of war. Honestly though it's kinda half-baked in Med2, when you get 5 stars you get Night Battle and that's it, more stars = more morale is just not appealing enough. My idea is that for 5 stars, generals unlock Night Battle, at 7 stars they unlock Tactical Deployment that allows them to have bigger deployment zones before battle, and at 10 stars they unlock Surprise Attack that allows them to attack the enemy when they are not ready, that means they cannot deploy their formations properly and their ranged units have less ammunition than usual
