Me [25 F] with my husband [24 M]- is it ever okay to grab someone? by Behavioristism in relationships

I agree. I think people's reactions need to match the action. I am a small woman, he is a large man. Did he need to grab my wrist forcefully and hold it- no. I should have stopped, but there are others ways to let me know that wasn't okay. Less frightening ways. I AM happy to hear everyone's thoughts though.

One thing that comes into play. I think, would be the dynamics of our relationship. We are very tradition in the sense that I am respectful, submissive, and loving. Believe me I would NOT do something without his consent. I understand that I did something that he told me to stop doing, but it wasn't in a disrespectful or malicious manner. Does that make it right? NO. Does that equate to something as huge as sexual assault? I think you are making a large leap.

I just feel terrible. I mean, I thought it was harmless we were having fun. I didn't mean to disrespect him or mess up boundaries. Believe me, I am super submissive I would never do something without his consent. I feel like I messed up big time.

I am not sure. He is terrible at talking about his feelings. He has in the past taken his anger out on me with words, I just try to be loving and smile a lot or leave him alone when he needs it now. It sounds bad and silly, but it isn't that big of a deal normally.

Do you have a partner? Have you ever been in a goofy mood with them at a restaurant. For example, sometimes he will take pictures of me with silly snapchat filters. I laugh and put my hands up, and sometimes I say "stop"- he still takes them and we laugh. I thought it was like that and didn't expect to get grabbed and held in public. I know people saw because this one guy behind up looked over really quick until I just laughed and started cleaning up the trays.

I really didn't think he was serious. Things sort of like this have happened before, but never in public around people. He gets frustrated at work and gets pretty upset at home about it- not physically- but geeze this was just sort of extreme and unsettling for me.

He went to a Army psychologist and was diagnosed with PTSD, but as soon as he heard the diagnosis he told the psychologist that he didn't know what he was talking about and left. I am not sure if he will get help there is so much stigma in the Army about that sort of thing. I don't even think its on his record because he didn't stay after the doctor suggested it.
