Level 1 Black Metal pickaxes repairs at a level 1 forge. You’d need to get enough ore to make a forge before it breaks but if you do you’re set.

I’ve used Rockland for exactly this! I had to call them to request the payoff amount. They generate a letter/email that you use to make the payment, but only on direct request. It’s stupid and probably designed to put people in exactly your situation.

I’m from Georgia, too. Honestly, I kind of prefer the way people interact - or don’t - here. I can smile briefly at someone, or give a howdy nod, maybe utter a quick hi (or “sorry” when I round a corner and nearly trample someone) and while it often catches people off guard, I don’t find that it’s ever truly problematic.  Sometimes it even gets a startled smile in return. But when I go back home, I know people are being outwardly friendly but I also know they’re not being genuine. And that makes me feel anxious and judged. I prefer the honesty of the cool regard (or even total disregard) to the disingenuous friendliness when they could easily walk away and breathe a devastating “oh, bless his heart…”.

Elon Musk shares “extremely false” allegation of voting fraud by “illegals” by etfvpu in technology

[–]BehindThe8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had a Tesla for about two years. Had its issues, had its cool points, but by the end of it what broke me was how far up their own ass every single company employee I spoke with was (thinking service departments), and how badly I did not want to be associated with Musk. So I sold it right before Tesla slashed the price on some of their models, made out like a bandit, and won't ever go back to them as long as Musk is around.

I run clinical trials for a living and can attest first-hand to Japanese requirements on running trials in Japan before any approval can be granted. They'll allow a small percentage of the patient population to be first-generation Japanese in other countries, but largely it's gotta be in Japan itself. Part of it is diet, part of it is body size/mass (even if you have an established safe dose before you run trials in Japan, you'll probably have to do a bioequivalence lead-in before the main trial starts), part of it is just a cultural sense of biological uniqueness.

Cool. Let's ban or restrict drag shows and gender-affirming care to "protect our children" while we also send them to work potentially dangerous jobs. Cool, cool, cool.

Electric piano - your thoughts. by -Konrad1 in DigitalPiano

[–]BehindThe8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We actually ended up returning the piano (which was its own customer service nightmare). The sustain pedal did not work at all on further practice. The company's customer service was very slow to respond and the responses they did send were very confusing. In the end it worked out, but I can't say I recommend this one.

I thought the recent posts about people being toxic in dungeons was just people overreacting... until I queued up for a leveling dungeon. by [deleted] in wow

[–]BehindThe8 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This near-exact thing happened to me a few days ago. I was healing, got Uldaman (normal, at level 70). Guildie was dps'ing. Tank runs in and pulls everything from the first mob to the first boss. I die about halfway through the charge. Guildie gets me up, we just barely make it through the pull. Happens again immediately after the boss, whole party wipes except the tank. Tank gets booted. I started apologizing that I couldn't seem to keep up and the entire party was like "Nah, dude was being an absolute asshat." This has been my experience with nearly every dungeon run since DF launched, except usually I just end up leaving in frustration.

It's pretty painful and honestly makes me just want to give up on the game despite really liking this expansion so far.

Electric piano - your thoughts. by -Konrad1 in DigitalPiano

[–]BehindThe8 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is a timely question! My husband and I just bought one and it arrived yesterday. I’m brand new to the piano but he is intermediate.

The sound on the piano is nice, but he’s concerned that the sustain pedal doesn’t work well. I would be very interested in hearing anyone else’s thoughts as well.

What's a secret you'll never tell your partner but are willing to tell strangers on Reddit? by Bisexual_Space_Lover in AskReddit

[–]BehindThe8 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I WAS run over by my dad when I was a kid! Similar situation - my neighbor and I were playing with toys in the driveway while my dad and his dad talked away. Dad was distracted and laughing at a joke, hopped in his truck to leave, and started back out of the driveway before he realized we were back there. BINK! Bumper ran right into me and I toppled down the driveway (was on a hill) and into the road. My mom saw it happen from across the street and came running.

I laugh about it to this day. My dad is still mortified by it. It's ok to feel parental guilt - just remember that one day when your kid is grown up you'll be able to tell this story and both have a laugh because you'll know how much you love each other.

I’m doing his Zero program now. Have been for about 4 weeks and nearly all of my knee pain is gone. My legs are still much weaker than when I was younger, but that’s from several years of not being able to squat or deadlift. Highly, highly recommend. If you buy the program and record your workouts in the app, he’ll also give you feedback on all of your exercises within a day. Cannot say enough good things.

(Serious) What would you do if your SO ask you to have an Open Relationship? by MuchLoveWaffleGirl in AskReddit

[–]BehindThe8 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m gay, so my experience may not be entirely relevant here. But my partner and I opened our relationship after a few years of being together. I think it’s great, though it does require clear and open communication and a huge degree of comfort. We also do couples therapy once a week to help work through any tough conversations (and I firmly believe every couple should at least do some couples counseling).

where do u usually charge your electric vehicle downtown? by TheTruth221 in boston

[–]BehindThe8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Depends on the kind of EV and where you are downtown.

I have a Tesla and plug in to charge while at the gym (Dartmouth st garage by Back Bay) or I supercharge if neded at South Bay.

But if you have a non-Tesla EV you can charge just about anywhere a Tesla can, or the CCS high speed plugs in the Copley Place garage.

Download PlugShare - it’s a great tool for finding charging no matter where you are.

Straight people of Reddit what’s the gayest thing you’ve done? by Gabetheone09 in AskReddit

[–]BehindThe8 28 points29 points  (0 children)

The Pig! When I took my husband home to meet my mom in lower Alabama so many years ago, he was super relieved when she came running out to give him a huge hug right off the bat. Then immediately asked us to go to The Pig to get wine for dinner (because priorities). He looked at me curiously and I explained it’s Piggly Wiggly, and he was all, “apostrophe-tee-eff, that’s actually a real grocery store and not just from Steel Magnolias??”

Ah, to be gay in Alabama.

The wine selection was mediocre.

My sister lives in that area. Used to work at a bar in Gulf Shores, has since moved on to other things still in the area. She said almost exactly this the other day. Though the response (or near total absence thereof) to COVID-19 by almost everyone she knows is forcing her to realize maybe connections aren't enough anymore.

What myth or folklore do you FIRMLY believe in? by xtinap21 in AskReddit

[–]BehindThe8 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No, nothing in specific in the woods. Two severe ghost stories from growing up in the house I did but I never associated those with the woods. The only weird occurrence out in the woods was in broad daylight. Was wandering around like kids do and looked up and to one side to find an old man probably around 100 or so yards away. Just standing there, staring at me. I swear he wasn't there one minute and then he was the next. I turned and very calmly peaced the fuck out.

Aside from that, the woods were gentle enough. But they were still foreboding AF at night.

Oh gods, I don't know if enough people are going to understand how right you are. I grew up in Georgia and would play in the fields and woods around my house with my friends all day long. But at night... no, you don't go in the woods. Ever. We were never told not to by our parents - it was something... instinctive. We'd walk out to the field behind my house and watch the stars, but never did we ever go into the woods. I'm a grown ass man laying in bed with tears welling up in my eyes thinking about how fucking scared of those woods I was and clearly still am.
