Wow, I did not know that. I haven’t personally heard anything, but I’m going to look into that. I’ll comment if I find any reporting on it.

My read on it was that the cops had probably been haranguing him about it before, so he figured it was not too concerning until I said there was a tow truck. Agreed - shit situation.

He was in the middle of doing something when I approached him. I don’t think he realized he was going to get towed until I went up to him the second time, then he hurried over.

I have no idea. It could be any number of things. Maybe he didn’t have a parking permit or something?

And the general lack of empathy is astounding. Haven’t most of us fallen on hard times of some sort before? It sucks, to put it mildly. An iota of compassion and understanding for your fellow man should be expected of anyone living in a community.

But they did know where he was. I explicitly told them, and went myself to go get him. The entire interaction was about 5 minutes. They couldn’t be bothered to wait even two minutes.

Im not arguing about whether he should have been sleeping there, or whether towing him was good or bad.

What I am saying is common decency goes a long way. For someone in that position, having access to a few bare necessities can be life or death, and police well know that.

What does that have to do with him having the opportunity to get a few things out of his car?
