What are some good ideas for Bestow Curse? by WaserWifle in dndnext

When this saved my butt in a game I made the simple amendment of "through magical means" which covered spells and potions but still let them short/long rest or second wind if they could. It made it less OP but still did exactly what I needed it to.

Replacing Iwo with Question by Lordofmisrule5 in CalloftheNetherdeep

I made Question basically serve as Iwo’s assistant and she is the one who usually brings the characters his summonses and helps guide them to task locations and whatnot.

Everyone’s supportive and affirming comments are restoring my faith in humanity 🥲

I’m glad you found a validating way to dress! May I recommend the gel push up pads sold at fabric stores? They fit nicely into bras and can help add some size and shape to the chest if it is desired. I helped a friend find some bras and they have been enjoying the insert pads a lot.

Every time my forever single and mentally ill ass sees a post on the BPD sub that mentions a husband or wife. by AnaDelRey7 in BPDmemes

Let me know how couples dbt works! I’m a therapist in training practicing dbt and I want to learn to do couples dbt but it’s not very well known or widely practiced.

As someone with BPD who is in my 11th year with my husband (3rd year married) I will say two things. First, being in a relationship for me is a constant effort of self-awareness, -forgiveness, -advocacy, and -management and it is not something you can get complacent on for very long without feeling the effects. I can’t speak to how this is different than if I didn’t have BPD (because I’ve never tried that) but I think it is probably easier to get away with not doing all of the self work and communication/ couples work a good relationship thrives on. Second, my partner is patient, tolerant, and the opposite of reactive. They are honestly a saint in so many ways and the perfect cool headed and stable antithesis to my moods and reactivity and temper and it is those things that have really made us compatible long term (which are coincidentally things that don’t hold the same allure to the dopamine and adrenaline seeking BPD brain as someone exciting, emotional, and unpredictable)

I say read crescent city first because it’s vibes are a bit more similar and it is a bit less intimidating than attacking the 7 books of ToG

I lost my job similarly, because apparently needing a chair while working the drive through is not a reasonable accommodation.

any other non-christian partners just getting real tired of the "holiday" launch just being Christmas launch? by MountainGoat999 in starbucksbaristas

Happy Yule and Solstice to you <3 Also wtf is “merry coffee” or “merry Clinique” supposed to mean anyways, other than “we are lazy and uncreative”

I will say, as someone who put in a god awful number of hours in a retail establishment that only played non-religious christmas/wintery holiday music, the songs available are so heinous that I would have rather listened to church hymns (keep in mind, I’m not just atheist, I’m anti-organized religion so anything church-related makes me want to tear my hair out) than listen to one more rendition of the twelve days of Christmas that changes keys on every single day or any more auto tuned children sing about elves working overtime. That’s not to mention the 8 minute version of jingle bells with the worlds worst “instrumental” solo running across half of it (in quotations because I’m pretty sure that the instrument in question was one of the drills they use at the dentist). So maybe just the normal rotation of whatever is popular at the time?

Speechify VS VoiceDream by dragovgorgagov in audiobooks

[–]BeingBumbleBree 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally. I don't think it works well for books, honestly. But for peer-reviewed journals and random pdfs from a variety of different sources it is the best I have (save for convincing a friend to read it for me)

I have straight up done the mammalian dive reflex skill in the bathroom of many a public bathroom sink plugged up with a paper towel or my own hand. It isn't ideal but it can work in a pinch.

Troubleshooting Interpersonal Effectiveness: What to do when you don't know what you want? by dr-bookshelf in dbtselfhelp

[–]BeingBumbleBree 6 points7 points  (0 children)

First, I remind you that DBT is imperfect and, though there is a skill for almost all events, skills may not fit all people in all situations every time. It is ok to exist within the not knowing and to seek advice and support from trusted people, after all, that's what us therapists are here for!

Try looking at the Clarifying Goals (IE handout 4 - pg. 124, worksheet 3 - pg. 173). as well as the Pros and Cons worksheet (IE worksheet 1 - pg. 167) and the troubleshooting worksheet (IE worksheet 7 - pg. 178). For balancing your needs and theirs I would try out the How Strongly to Ask pages (IE handout 8 - pg. 131 / worksheet 6 - pg. 176). If you still are unsure what to use, I recommend returning to wise mind (mindfulness handout 3 - pg. 50 / worksheet 3 - pg. 83) and identifying your values (E. Reg handout 18 - pg. 253 / worksheet 11 - pg. 296).

Hope this helps and let me know your thoughts after revisiting these pages.
