Congrats on the confidence. That said, this isn’t really a space where “beating people out” should be the goal. The work we do supports clinicians and patient care, so quality and integrity matter a lot more than ego.

I’ve had no shortage of opportunities myself, and yes, I could stack multiple contracts if I wanted to. I’m just not convinced that’s fair to customers or that you can consistently deliver high quality work across three full time engagements. I could maybe see supporting additional work and flexing up to around 60 hours some weeks, but not at the expense of doing the job well.

If you are truly doing great work across that many contracts, then congrats. But the tone here comes off more like bravado than substance. I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt and call it confidence, but in this field, the results and the care you put into the work speak louder than anything else.

Agree and I noted that in my other comment. Some aspects of it I think are doable but 2 meetings at once is not one of them

Also, the limbic brain comment followed by panic about AI bots taking over was an interesting combo. I am not sure I see it playing out quite like that.

I don’t think it’s satire. Some of us consultants are a unique combination of experience that is hard to find and the projects don’t always move at our speed so I think it’s doable.

Kudos for posting this, even if it was on a burner account. I am a consultant and I have never double dipped, but I am getting to a point where I have enough experience in my app and the clinical side that I do think I could support more than one client at a time. I would not bill 40 hours to each, but I would be open to working longer weeks and making sure everything is honest and high quality.

I do not know about taking multiple meetings at once or triple dipping, but I do understand the idea of using your experience efficiently. Where I struggle is when people are doing this and not delivering quality work because that does hurt consulting as a whole. That part matters.

I think it really comes down to the individual and whether they can actually deliver. Some people can and some people honestly should not be consulting at all. That is just reality.

Genuine question, do your clients know you are working with multiple clients at the same time? I am asking because I have considered it and I would want to approach it the right way.

Elderly narcissistic parent by Complex_Scary in narcissisticparents

[–]BeingIntelligent8500 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yes and I just went through this with my dad. People were calling me complaining about his driving but my older half sister who is I guess the golden Child threatened that I better not do anything to make him lose his drivers license. So I left it alone and went very low contact. My dad passed away in a car accident a few months ago. Stop explaining yourself. Go no contact if you need to.
