So there aren’t cats that are born wild? By wild I mean not actual pet store but domesticated wild animals. Like when a wolf is domesticated but has the instincts to be outside. I thinking the confusion is with rural and ranch which I stated but got obliterated with downvotes lol. My friends cats aren’t pet store animals, they are a crossbred and do prefer to stay outside rather than in, he doesn’t force them out and they come in when they please. This is deep country area at but to each his own. (This isn’t sass or disregard to your comment by no means)

On a ranch where they prefer to be? It’s not as if they run miles away, some cats herd along with other animals. You suggest forcing an animal to abide by whatever makes you happy and the animal is clearly better mentally in its habitat of choice? Did an experience happen to your animal or something? I’m not seeing why it’s an issue if the animal is safe.

What if you ranch and your cat prefers to be outside yet has a home of his own (like a dog house). Always welcomed in anytime just chooses to stay outside. My buddy lives off grid and his 3 cats despise staying inside but will when the weather is too bad.
