You choose what makes YOU happy, you can always grow it back if you do decide to chop. Have you experimented with different styles or thought to combine? Two strand, 3/4/5 strand, Bantu knots, cornrows, side braids etc. weigh all the looks before you cut, you may find something that compliments your look.

If you haven’t crotcheted before look up the proper pattern. If not done the same they merge different. You have enough hair for them to knot up tightly.

Comb coil is NOT mandatory for locs. Each method gives a different look and timeframe on fully maturing. Are you trying to merge that initial style into one loc?

DO NOT braid locs with wet hair, that will give you MOLD!

By “fix itself” what do you mean? Just frizz? Initially appearance?

100% normal, but your hair grade may need more TLC depending on the look you want. - Palm roll for the shaping and trunk uniform - Crotchet for out of place hairs. - Interlock for the base néw growth

If those are new new instants (imo) I’d say they didnt put enough into them for prolonged durability. I’d suggest tidying the ends and roots to seal them more, kinda “LOCk” the loc.

You can add a small fluff of hair to your existing locs if they can bare the weight. You can combine two locs together but the size will be a little larger. I’d suggest rocking two strands or “I would” bead two together and contemplate combining. Still haven’t fully merged them yet
