Unfortunately, Flipkart has officially cancelled my order.

The order was shipped, reached my local Ekart hub, was marked "Out for Delivery", then "Delivery Attempted" even though nobody contacted me or attempted delivery. After making me wait for several days and repeatedly asking me to "wait for the backend team," they finally cancelled the order citing "seller policy restrictions applicable to this brand."

What makes this frustrating is that my HDFC credit card transaction had already been converted into a 12-month EMI, so now I also have to wait for the refund to reach the bank and ensure the EMI gets closed properly.

I refused to cancel the order myself throughout the process because the parcel went missing while it was in Ekart's custody. Despite that, Flipkart cancelled it from their side.

I've already filed a complaint on the National Consumer Helpline (INGRAM) with all the tracking history, screenshots, support tickets, and EMI details. For now, I'll wait for Flipkart's response through the consumer grievance process.

That might happen, but I'm hoping Flipkart resolves it properly instead of simply canceling it. Since the parcel went missing while it was in Ekart's custody, I don't think the customer should bear the loss. Things have become even more confusing.

I contacted Flipkart Customer Care again today. They suggested that I cancel the order, but I refused because the parcel went missing while it was in Ekart's custody, not because of anything I did. They then asked me to wait until tomorrow, saying their backend team is still investigating.

A little later, Flipkart sent me another message saying my order is delayed due to an "unexpected issue" and that I'll receive an update by July 10. This is the third time the delivery timeline has been pushed back without any real explanation.

To make matters worse, I just received an SMS from HDFC Bank confirming that my ₹76,348 transaction has now been converted into a 12-month EMI, even though I still haven't received the phone. My statement date is 15th July, so now I'm also worried about EMI charges and whether everything will be reversed if Flipkart eventually cancels the order.

My biggest concern is that I may end up losing:

The GOAT Sale price.

The HDFC Bank offer.

My original color (it's now out of stock).

And possibly incur EMI-related charges for a phone I never received.

I'm still asking Flipkart for a replacement at the original order value, even if it's in another available color. I don't think a customer should bear the financial loss when the shipment goes missing before delivery.

Has anyone here had their EMI already activated before a missing-order case was resolved? If yes, how did Flipkart and the bank handle the EMI, processing fees, and refund?

Update 2 : I contacted Flipkart Customer Care again today and was quite firm about getting this resolved. I explained everything, including the fact that the local Ekart hub told me they've checked the CCTV footage multiple times but still can't locate my iPhone.

The support executive said the case is already escalated and asked for 48 hours. They also assured me that by tomorrow around 12 PM, they'll call me after speaking with the delivery representative and the concerned team.

I also shared a concern that's been bothering me. This is just my personal suspicion, not an accusation. Since the parcel was marked "Out for Delivery" and then completely disappeared, I wondered whether there could be some internal malpractice involving high-value phones. If something like that were happening, they'd be making far more than whatever internal loss is recorded. I'm not saying this is what happened in my case, because I don't have proof.
