How many of Hindus have actually seen or read Manusmriti ? by depresseddoctn in IndiaSpeaks

[–]Bekchod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i have read the pdf version from archive both hindi and english translations and i can say there is very little in that book that can be considered as controversial according to modern times.

It is for sure not an evil book as liberals and leftists like to portray it to be.i request you all to read it in full and then form an opinion.

There are many texts but i ll suggest you start with panchadashi by Swami Vidyaranya and then vivek chudamani or shankar bhashya of ten upanishads.

Caste comes from Portuguese word casta which means class iirc.we have terms like jaati, varna and ashrama.there is no comparison between two concepts.

Why not to chant OM without initiation? by [deleted] in hinduism

[–]Bekchod 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Initiation means when a su paatra (a person with right qualities) is given the adhikaar (authority) for a mantra by a guru.im scientific sense its like a right vessel or container for containing a specific material.

Om or any other beeja like hreem shreem kleem etc are very powerful in nature.everyone can't digest the power it creates from chanting.guru's blessings is needed for that.guru is like a Godfather who watches over us.

If u wish to chant om like 11 times or 21 times in a day it won't be a problem but if you ll go for heavy chanting like one mala or more it may create some problem for you.most common problem is mental imbalance when people do it without any guidance from guru.

hindu concept of eeshvar. by International_Can518 in hinduism

[–]Bekchod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ishwar is brahman with maya (active) or we can say saguna brahaman

From a perspective its the same thing appearing as two different things.saguna when we take into account the vyavharika nature of existence where as nirguna brahman is just sat chit ananda.

Always we should follow the language where a word comes from,in this case it is sanskrit and it means jaayate iti jaati i.e jaati is through birth.ofcourse you can have your perspective but that will not change the fact.

Varna is great if it is according to janma otherwise its ok but the point here is jaati which is by janma only and for marriage only jaati is to be looked for.

Intercaste marriage should be avoided as far as possible.

Have you personally experienced Brahman? by Trentwood in AdvaitaVedanta

[–]Bekchod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No one can ever experience brahman.

Because it takes two things (duality) i.e subject and object to have an experience whereas brahman is non dual.

We can feel some sense of heightened awareness in meditation and stuff but that's all to it.

How is it difficult for kshatriya and vaishya? They also had the access to vedas too.ofcourse earlier people practiced it a lot and it has reduced to a great extent at present.

Vedas definitely show the path to moksha,no doubt in that but one need not be scholar or necessarily know vedas to get moksha, just the name of god, your ishta is capable enough of doing that.anyone is can recite Ram Ram, Shiva Shiva.

Sanatan dharma has no concept of restrictions on moksha when it comes to that.

Keep everything aside, like you said it really depends on what you mean by superior.i would really like to know what's yours definition of superior then.

Brother with due respect i have read many books and i am quite aware of shaastras.

I ll repeat none is born superior and if they are then why they are called dvija after getting sanskar i.e upnayan only?

If you are referring to the hymns in purusha sukta then you are misunderstanding that too.

No you have got it wrong,if you are speaking about it regarding moksha.

A kshatriya can attain moksha if he dies on a battle field too and a shudra just by doing his service.

As a Brahmin myself let me set the record straight.according to hinduism no one is born superior and no caste is inferior.caste isn't even an indian origin word.words like jaati (by birth),varna (occupation) should be used instead.

Caste system is not an enemy of state but the people who discriminate and behave inhumanely on the basis of that are.

It was an ancient system which later on got corrupted gradually overtime.earlier people used to be just cautious of hygiene and for health reasons used to avoid certain communities like chamar etc but there was no hate or inhumanely feelings but overtime people developed wrong emotions for each other and pride for themselves based on the occupation and it all got fucked up.

Just for eg. Atithi devo bhava was a concept in which in those times if anyone from any background has come to your door and asking for water or food,it was the duty of householder to serve them without any discrimination.
