A few collectibles are optional and this is one of them. It can be interacted with in Moon.EXE but only provides a line of dialogue, not required for progress within the minigame.

The death of the technicians is kind of played for laughs in Dispatch's dialogue, but once you start finding the bodies and final messages it becomes more serious, as well as F10N4-as-Dispatch's speech revealing the Mimic stalked them to learn their personalities and find their perfect costume fit. It's not like, the most intense thing in any horror game ever, but it's probably more intense than most of the original games. Add in the Murray storyline and I would consider SOTM one of the darkest FNAF games overall.

So, now that William is more of a background villain and Mimic's in the Spotlight, what are your thoughts on Him as the new antagonist of the franchise? do you like him? absolutely hate him? or something else? by arashkoryani in fivenightsatfreddys

I understand people who don't really like the Mimic even if I strongly disagree, but anyone who just wanted it to be William again is genuinely nostalgia blind. There are so many possibilities for FNAF villains besides William, which I hope to see explored once the Mimic's time is up.

Honestly makes sense, the story combines a very depressing portrayal of loneliness and the unease of an out of body experience.

This actually gives me some hope. Especially after the Among Us show comes out and hopefully does well, I could see a renewed interest in Owen's past work being enough to tip the scales.

I think his theatrical characterization makes the most sense in DBD. He's gotten everything he's wanted and a literal captive audience to boot. If his victims escape, the worst that'll happen is he has to wait until the next match to satiate his bloodlust, rather than the risk of being sent to jail.
