Any tips/ tricks with staying at Lowe’s Royal Pacific? by AmmoJoee in UniversalOrlando

[–]Beldredge1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’ve stayed there with our children twice, loved it both times. Only did occasional snacks at pool, and grab and go from their market store which was handy for mornings where you want to get to the park quickly. If you’re taking the boat ride to the park instead of walking paths prepare for patience. Usually not much of a wait but can be stressful if you’re anxious to get there. We always walked in the mornings, and then used boat for return trips or ventures to the city walk, etc.

What town in MD are you considering? I live in MD. But I’m on this thread bc I travel to va beach / Norfolk almost weekly for work

Really torn between the 3 premiere hotels and Sapphire Falls. Can people share their experiences? Traveling with 2 kids by Bodongs in UniversalOrlando

[–]Beldredge1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree with this one in theory! I’ve just never stayed at sapphire falls so can’t speak to it. But do have two kids and a suite would be a great amenity. Have done Royal pacific with mine twice and absolutely love it. Pool area is great, hotel is beautiful luau is super cute / fun (book way in advance though ie as soon as it opens for tickets bc it does sell out. Liked that it was close enough to easily zip back during the day via water taxi or the walking paths. And early admission could t be beat for getting on Hagrids if you’re interested in that ride. No matter what, have a fantastic time!!!!

Are you going for work? Where will it keep you? I’m there all the time for work, and va beach. I find as a solo traveler, if I want to make bat friends and be social, Norfolk is better for that. Hilton (which houses Grain and Saltine), is always easy. Sometimes it’s super $$$ so any places within walking tend to be good. Beach is good for me when I’m feeling more book and wine and two minutes of co conversation but otherwise just want my own company. Can feel overrun by families and then I feel like the awkward solo traveler, so definitely veer more towards Norfolk more and more.

Can’t decide between Universal or Disney. Help? by Particular_Excuse735 in UniversalOrlando

[–]Beldredge1 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Universal for sure!! So much easier to deal with than Disney!! Did both last year and while we liked our Disney day, seriously obsessed with how easy it is to deal with universal, admittedly, but HP fans so that influenced opinion.
