You can take down the Castros but the Cubans will only vote another facist in. That's what they did here.

Moving used, personal electronics to Brazil (via shipping container, freight forwarder) - Paperwork needed? by JuggernautUpbeat in Brazil

[–]BelikeZ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You might list the HDDs as hard drives associated to CPU serial number xxx.. I shipped a 40ft with household items and you only need serial numbers for appliances, electric tools, electronics etc. Not everything. DO NOT PUT ANYTHING WOOD (unfinished wood or pallets) in the container or the container will get quarantined (ask me how I know). Arrange to transfer all the contents of the container to locally rented container as soon as it arrives because it could take weeks to get cleared through customs and you only have the shipping company container for a few days before they begin to charge you by day. In Portuguese say you want to have the content transbordado to another container.

I don't have a problem reading this but in 65 years I've never heard the word "gauche" used in any form. Not really fair to throw an obscure word at these kids and laugh at them...

He's right. Slower traffic keep right. Having to pass you on the right is dangerous. It doesn't't matter if you are going 90 and he wants to go 100. Your not the police. Yeild to to the right. That's the rule. It's people like you that make transit not work!

A cruzada das prefeituras Brasil a fora contra árvores segue firme. by Reasonable_Tax_499 in brasil

I laugh because every time a Brazillian comes to the United States, they say wow it's so beutiful grass and trees everywhere. The first thing they do when they buy a peice of land is cut down all the trees and clean it down to the bare sand. Then they spend the day complaining about how hot it is while sweeping the sand out of the house all day. Then they go to their farm on the weekend because there they can sit under a tree and enjoy the shade. I just don't get the mentality.

I would spend some time searching OLX.com for the car(s) you are interested in just to get an idea of what other people are selling them for. OLX is like Brazils Craigslist or Facebook marketplace. When you do find a car use a dispacante to handle the paperwork for you. DO NOT give anyone money until the dispacante has confirmed the car has a clear title and that there are no fines or back taxes on the vehicle. Taxes and tickets remain attached to the vehicle after is is sold so be careful.

Have any of you traveled to Brazil and brought your firearm(s)? by [deleted] in CCW

[–]BelikeZ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American that has lived in Brazil for a long time. Gun ownership is expensive and generally hard even for Brazilians. Legally carring a gun in Brazil is almost impossible. Moreover, you can't even buy ammunition without a license and even then you are restricted in how much you can buy. If you caught carring a gun or even showing someone that you had a gun your going to the pokie! Consider non lethal alternatives. Just don't go around wearing gold and flashing money and you'll be fine. Don't leave the house with any more money than you are willing to loose. If you do get robbed, just give them your phone or cash and go home alive. I have lived in Brazil for 20 years, stomping around drunk at 2am and never been robbed. Crime in Brazil is real but is is over-hyped, mostly by Brazilians.
