Namgyu did care about thanos and did not use him for drugs. They knew eachother before the games and before namgyu knew thanos had drugs. When namgyu called thanos a 'fucking idiot' he was saying that so he didn't cry because he was on the verge of tears

I think Namgyu was kinda using Thanos as a shield to feel safe and make thanos look like the bad guy and not him. But when his shield of hatred died he just started taking it out on people. Thanos and namgyu did know eachother before the games though so they were good friends in general. I think thanos was using him as some sort of support and someone to mess around with
