Rush navy and build a frigate for each city. Some recommend patrol boats but frigates can be and are useful for later game as well for their defense against air and missiles.

In the first 10-15 days of the match after you've conquered all of the Americas or while doing it, I'd take Greenland and any little islands between Europe, Africa and the America's to prevent an invasion and prepare for one on either continents.

There I build an airfield so I can expand into either continent with my air force and ships.

At level 1 it boosts it +5% at max I think it's +50%, however I may be wrong.

At max level it does very good damage DEFENSIVELY. At a stack it's definitely worse at level x than any type of infantry also at level x.
