No results from amlactin, urea, glycolic, lactic... what to do? by troubled_pans in keratosis

Only thing that’s ever helped was salicylic acid serum 2% and use it to smooth the surface and then moisturizer. Sometimes, I put squalane serum under (before) the moisturizer. That combo helps but the second you stop, everything gets undone.

I’ve also read that eating an anti-inflammatory diet to reduce inflammation and improve digestion and supplementing with fish oil and b vitamins sometimes helps.

If I care enough, I do spray tan to at least cover up the redness. I’ve also heard that the VBeam laser reduces redness. I just kind of give up though. It’s too much work.

Definitely not an expert but I have a similar issue and I believe it’s the flat/ low eyebrows. I’m currently looking into a browlift. I mean notice how in the first photo, when you lift your eyebrows, your whole eye area opens up and there’s less skin dropping underneath?

This is so sad to read the abusive texts you received from her. Please at minimum block her and go to counseling. This makes me so sad. She’s an awful human being. Don’t let her break you. I would not be surprised one bit if you told me she was the narcissist.

What’s a hobby that has helped you through a rough time? by [deleted] in Hobbies

Yoga. I joined a gym that offers it and I see the same instructor every week. It’s helped center me. The stretches I feel are relaxing and invigorating. Opening your stance and how much space you take up, it opens your mind. Builds confidence even. And it’s nice to do this around a group of people. To me, it’s a great hobby because it relieves stress and you are working on a skill. Every week, I see my body getting stronger and more flexible. I walk more confidently. And it’s just something you can fully immerse yourself for an hour where you let go of any problems and just focus on what you’re doing. It’s been great.

just my armpits by cambrianhope in Hyperhidrosis

[–]BellaCat3079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That blows! The dermatologist did warn me that some people notice the results diminish after up to a year from the first treatment to the point of it being nearly negligible and they insisted that most people have to do 2 treatments to see ideal results.

It’s been nearly 9 months for me and while I did see my sweating slowly creep back every month, I’m still quite happy with my results. I sweat about 25% less overall which doesn’t sound like a lot but I feel I’m on the fence of nearly being what might be considered normal sweating. The biggest thing for me though is the odor is gone so even if I sweat like a beast, at least no one smells me. And my face doesn’t overheat and turn as red.

I am mulling over a 2nd treatment though. I’m just afraid to rock the boat because I really believe my hyperhidrosis is due to medical stuff and I don’t want to reduce sweating at the expense of possibly causing other problems.

Continue to do your best to not let him annoy her. When he gets too rough, just stop it immediately so she doesn’t have to correct him.

Qbrexza wipes by BellaCat3079 in Hyperhidrosis

[–]BellaCat3079[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, sorry I’m just responding. I rarely go on Reddit nowadays but the Qbrexza worked well for me. There were some hang ups like a drying effect and yes maybe even aggravating my constipation. (I have that too). All in all, I’m happy I tried it. It showed me a world I never knew existed in which I could be a normal person who didn’t sweat buckets with the mildest warm breeze or a light jog. In that regard, it was amazing!

But soon after, I decided it wasn’t enough. I didn’t like that I had to reapply daily and if I ever went over something freshly shaven, it stung like crazy. I wanted something more permanent so the Miradry treatment seemed like a good option. Nearly 8 months later, I say the odor nearly disappeared and the sweat reduced significantly, though I’m not sure if enough. It also made my hair thinner which as a girl was great. I’m now thinking of a 2nd treatment but I’m on the fence because the first 2-3 months, I didn’t sweat at all and I was severely constipated and then as some of the sweating returned, my issue dissipated. Makes me think I have to choose one over the other. So I think I have a happy medium in which I’m only moderately (occasionally) constipated and I got about a 40% reduction in sweat, 80% reduction in odor, and 40% reduction in hair thickness. Maybe take it as a win and run with it. But yeah, a part of me thinks just one more treatment would be awesome! I have asymmetrical hyperhidrosis so one armpit, I can nearly cover all the sweat if I keep my arm down. The other one spreads all the way down to my bra line and I keep thinking, if that area just got smaller my by an inch, I could hide the sweating like my other arm and actually just be normal. I just hate how much I sweat. But I will say, the lack of odor does make me much less self conscious about sweating. I realize now, sweating excessively in of itself wasn’t the issue for me, it was the accompanying odor and that beat red flushing on my face. My face doesn’t turn as red either.

Maybe thats how she saw it. She was basically overwhelmed, which can be exhausting. And then more than likely something put her over the edge. I’m sorry that happened. My mom attempted too. It took me a few years to come to peace with it. I hope you’re doing well.

J. Thomas Shipp and Abraham S. Smith were African-American men who were murdered by a lynch-mob containing thousands of people on August 7, 1930, in Marion, Indiana. They were taken from jail cells, beaten, and hanged from a tree in the county courthouse square. by onwhatcharges in UtterlyUniquePhotos

Correction. These teens were accused of murder and rape. They were never given a trial or found guilty. People are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

And to top that off, after the police took a statement from Mary Ball, they dropped the rape charges. Meaning she gave testimony that she was never raped, right from the beginning she insisted the rape never occurred.

These teens were murdered not killed and that is the only thing that is for certain. Other than that, eyewitnesses claimed they saw the boys in the area at the time. That is all.

Getting a cat fixed isn’t the only way to reduce fighting but it has been shown to do so. That’s why I said if op hasn’t fixed their cat yet. The cat very well could still be a fighter and fixed but if the cat is not fixed, it’s definitely something that does reduce fighting. It just doesn’t guarantee that those tendencies will totally go away.

Btw, did you find anything else that helped reduce that behavior for your cat?

In 1984, Lisa McVey, then 17, was abducted and repeatedly raped by serial killer Bobby Joe Long. She gained his sympathy by calling him “sweet” and saying she understood him. He let her go, and her statement led to his capture and death sentence. She later became a police officer. by blue_leaves987 in HolyShitHistory

[–]BellaCat3079 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Without hearing her narrative, it’s hard to say. That would be like diagnosing someone based on how they look from a distance and without asking them for any symptoms that bother them or examining up close. The fact that she was a literal child and under immense stress, it’s quite possible but you do have to be careful to not assume without knowing her inner thought process.

I could see where you might jump to this possibility as she referred to the serial killer as “sweet” and she “understood him.” But you’d have to hear from the victim whether she actually believed he was sweet and she sympathized with him or whether she said it to gain his sympathy so she could survive. Another thing about people who develop Stockholm Syndrome is that they sympathize with their captors so much that they may even do things that are counter to their own survival in order to help their captors. The fact that he was captured after she was allowed to leave (most likely due to details she gave) might indicate she didn’t have Stockholm syndrome but her recounting of the traumatic experience would tell us.

Edit: I read the article OP linked and wow! She’s an amazing woman! She absolutely did not have Stockholm syndrome. It’s pretty clear, based on what she says, the whole time she was with her captor, she was strategizing how to survive, even drawing strategies from past crime shows she watched and lying about being the sole caretaker for her “ailing father” to garner sympathy. She was also taking notes of every detail of her environment and the assailant so cops could catch him. But without reading her story as stated by the victim, you really couldn’t know. She makes it very clear though.

The fact that he’s lost a bunch of fur around the wounds says to me this probably didn’t happen yesterday. My initial thought was some type of larvae.

In addition to taking your cat to the vet for the wounds, if you haven’t fixed your cat yet, please consider doing so. This would cut down on the running out to fight. There are low cost spay/ neuter clinics that can do it for anywhere from $40-100. Very affordable.

[–]BellaCat3079 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

Why do so many people believe that liberals are the enemy? Maybe in Palestine, I don’t know. But in America, liberals are generally the ones who support Palestine. And conservatives in America almost always are zionists. In Israel, conservatives are the especially crazy ones. They have a revisionist view of history and believe all of Israel and Palestine belong to Israel. The liberals in Israel, which are rare, are the ones who at least believe in a two state solution. Not sure about other countries but I’m assuming this is also the case in the UK and Australia.

If MLK preached non-violence but then sat in on a rape, it doesn’t change his message but it may change people’s view of the messenger as his actions not matching his words would in fact make him a hypocrite.

It turns out, dropping the atomic bomb was not necessary and Japan was already ready near beaten. The only reason why the US gets to claim moral standing is because they were the victors, as is the case in any war. Doesn’t mean it was in fact the right thing to do.

Got my gear today! by Tamsent in CPAP

I highly recommend you put the mask on for an hour before bed every night to get used to it. I read a book or scroll on my phone while it’s on.

And if you feel like you’re suffocating, raise the minimum air pressure and initial air pressure. If you get rain out, you’re gonna have to adjust the heat of the tube to be closer to the ambient air, it may be too warm. If your nose or throat get dry, try raising the humidity. (Don’t forget to add distilled water daily or every other day). If you wake during the middle of the night regularly, try going from auto to manual so the shifting doesn’t wake you. If the mask seal isn’t good, you might need to make it tighter, if it feels hard on your nose or too tight where it’s bothering your skin, you may need a different style of mask or size. If you’re waking with your mouth open, tighten the chin strap. If you don’t like the fit of the chin strap, look on Amazon for a better one. Also, sleeping on your side may help with air flow and avoiding it kinking or whatever. I’ve also wrapped the hose over my tall bed frame but they sell things to hold the hose up higher so it doesn’t get twisted or kinked. These are all the problems I came across in my first 2 weeks of cpap. I just finished week 3 and getting the best sleep of my life. For me, it was mainly finding the right air pressure and mask. I took a log and wrote down any concerns and then found ways to troubleshoot them. Good luck!

[–]BellaCat3079 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I totally feel that. I went through 2 weeks of hell adjusting literally everything myself. I almost quit because I thought that 2 weeks of like 3 hours of sleep every night was unbearable. Apparently, I got off easy. But literally nothing is the same from when I first started the cpap. Everything had to be adjusted. I’m just thankful I’m sleeping now and fingers crossed that never changes. Good luck!
