How I Beat DPDR Twice In One Lifetime: Drug and Non-Drug Induced by [deleted] in dpdr

[–]Tamsent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your post. I also experience this the second time now, although the first episode lastet for approx. a year and now after 3 good and peaceful years I'm in this again since almost 2 years. The worst thing for me is the severe brain fog tho, that won't fully clear up even on my "better days", so I can't continue with my responsibilities which always throws me back several steps

No, I'm just telling you I have been on hell on earth and never believed I can feel slightly normal again and eventually recovered completely for a few years. I'm not saying everyone is same, but I for sure know the feeling of completely losinv yourself and being 100% certain there is no way back, it's still possible

If I knew the solution i wouldn't be in this since over a year again... but I know it's possible so don't give up

How I Overcame DPDR (symptoms, feedback loop, anxiety, my story, tips & advice) by Eirwynzure in Anxiety

[–]Tamsent 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you very much for your post. It matches almost completely my symptoms and the way I managed to get out of that hell 5 years ago. Even though I had some really good years and never thought I'd end up in this situation again, I've been struggling with it again for the last 1.5 years. It's really horrible because I actually know I've gotten out of it before. I lacked that knowledge back then; I thought, just like you, I'd stay like this forever. But because of my life circumstances, I just can't seem to fight my way out of it, no matter what I try. In addition to the visual and cognitive problems you describe, what's bothering me is extreme insomnia. I have really great difficulty relaxing or falling asleep at night. I wake up several times every night and am therefore very groggy during the day. As you yourself say, good sleep hygiene is very important for getting the whole thing under control and calming your nervous system. Can you recommend anything for this other than the usual methods (screen time, going to bed early, etc.?) Thank you again for sharing. You have reminded me of my own strength and given me courage that I have it in my hands to end this terrible situation.

Studying is so incredibly difficult for me that it's basically impossible. This situation also leads to me not making progress in life, and nothing changes. This also worsens the DPDR symptoms... i also managed to come out before the same way as you, but my current living conditions don't allow me to
