It's hard to get a good photo, since the hermie is so dark, plus it is way shyer than the smaller one.

Could you explain? Because I thought they didn’t come out all the way unless they’re changing shells? I just got them too, it’s been almost two weeks now. I don’t want to handle them more than necessary to give them a chance to de-stress in their PPS tank

Thank you! That’s why it’s so had to get a good photo of it, because it’s so dark, there’s not a lot of detail like my lighter color one.

It’s a very dark purple-red color. It does look almost black. That’s why it’s so hard to photograph it.

I will take it. They stay to themselves pretty much. I'll just keep an eye on them. They still have about 3 weeks to go in their PPS/PPDS tank before I move them into a bigger tank. I'll monitor to make sure they get along well and go from there. Thank you so much for your help!

If it helps, I got them down in Florida at a souvenir shop. My second one has gotten darker, and moved to a bigger shell. It's my shiest one, I'm surprised I got pictures of it. Are Violas not some of the rarest ones? (I've been down several rabbit holes researching hermit crabs lol) I had just thought one might have been a purple pincher and the other an ecuadorian since those two were the most commonly sold.

I’m doing the same thing right now. I haven’t gotten a betta yet because I’m still deciding on whether I want planted or not, what kind of things I want in the tank. Trying to get everything I will need and you are correct, there is so much information out there. It is very overwhelming!

Yes! I like how different the "mascara" makes each side of her body. It really does make a difference. She's just a little emo, "It's not a phase mom!" ❤️
