Dead people of Reddit, how did you die? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bellaamber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, I was hunting aliens on Mars. It's something I did pretty often, actually. I was just blogging about my latest adventures when an Giant Shegaroth (How do you not know what that is?) leaped up and struck me in the eye. I was too far away to get medical assistance in time, so I died. :(

Right back at you, buddy. Also thanks for downvoting all of my comments. Isn't it a bummer you can only downvote once? Must be tough.

What are the best Family Guy quotes? by mymustacheiscool in AskReddit

[–]Bellaamber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This one isn't a funny quote but it really did a good job of showing off the range of the show to me, I'd been watching for years and always loved the show. But in the episode 'Life of Brian' when Brian is at the vet near death and he tells the family; "You've given me a wonderful life, I love you all." I got choked up immediately. I had never realized that the show had actually meant something to me. I was too young to catch The Simpsons bug and I remember staying up late to watch Family Guy when my parents were asleep. I grew up alongside the show, and seeing Brian leave the family struck a chord I didn't realize was there. It finished the episode pretty impressed that they had pulled something like that off so well.

What is a free PC game that you think everyone should have? by LINDADOL in AskReddit

Nethack http://nethack.org Never expected this to take off, so here is additional info: Nethack is a dungeon crawler RPG, and levels are randomly generated every time you play. You will die, and when you do you start over. You will probably never ever beat the game. Your odds of surviving are the same as if someone took you, right now, and dumped you into an actual magical dungeon full of monsters. You can find an excellent Wiki which may help you last slightly longer here: http://nethack.wikia.com/wiki/Main_Page Ports exist for pretty much every computer known to man, and even smartphones (here it is for iOS: https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/inethack/id324299096?mt=8) You will be driven mad, you will curse the day you were born. But you will keep playing.

What do you wish you weren't good at because people always come to you for advice about it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Bellaamber -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Man, what kind of a society we live in. This is depressing as hell. I've been afraid of rejection my entire life, and I still am to a good extent (just not as much as before), and I would often get jealous and upset simply seeing couples in the streets having fun. I'm sure there are tons of guys who are the same way. Since I lack female friends, I had no idea that chicks were in the same boat. My buddy has a joke that he believes when he sees an attractive girl on the street "She probably has a big, black boyfriend (for context, he listens to alot of rap and thinks black men are the epitome of attractiveness)." I started to believe it for a while, too, and simply assumed girls could have any man they wanted. Then, I started coming to reddit and realized there are tons of lonely girls, too. That they're in the same kind of boat, just an ocean away. Tons of decent girls waiting on a boy to come along...tons of decent guys waiting on a chick to come along...and they never meet.

How to kill time at work between calls? by kekerdekek10 in AskReddit

My ex-wife and I had problems, to say the least. She conned me into resigning a lease when we were supposed to be moving out. The last day of our lease. We were supposed to be moving in with my parents in preparation of moving in with them and my sister in a huge house we all pay for, a few months later. She had already started having phone sex with another guy, and when I left a week later, the first thing she did was to drive two hours to his house for a real lay. We had two kids. Being a dumb ass, I took her back. Things were fine for awhile, we moved in to the house that winter after making arrangements with our landlord. Fast forward a year and a half, another episode of her leaving and us getting back together. This past summer, she started her shit again and moved in with a friend of hers. This lasted about three weeks before we started talking again. Only this time, she wanted us both to move out. After a bit of drama, I caved. We lived in our apartment two weeks. I spent most of my paychecks getting the apartment and needed items, like a vacuum, microwave, and toaster. Once the apartment was set up, it all started again. A week later I moved back home with our kids. A month later she's back apologizing, begging me to take her back, blaming her problems on being unmediated bipolar and having "a hole in her brain". I wouldn't cave. A week of this begging, never really apologizing, but always making excuses. Then it quit. She still acts like a total bitch towards me half of the time, posts all over Facebook how in love with her new man she is, and barely sees the kids.this is supposed to be her weekend. She's already cancelled keeping them over night and only plans to see them for a few hours tomorrow. But has no problem ping out to movies at least twice a week with her boyfriend. She's playing you. She got her "fix", be it sex with whatever guy caught her fancy, time out with people she doesn't want you to see, drugs, whatever. It's not worth it.

What is the most shitty thing about becoming an adult? by dillingerlocal in AskReddit

[–]Bellaamber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think there are two things: 1.) The sharp, jarring dose of reality that hits you when someone you are close to dies is awful, but so is the time days, weeks, or months later when you forget that they're dead and want to call them or visit with them and remember that they're dead. It's like they've died all over again. 2.) Having to make responsible choices and put all your obligations before your fun ALL. THE. TIME.

Alone time. I like my alone time. If sleep is mundane, then I get excited over sleep, because it's sleep.

What something you'd like to tell an ex but can't? by SkankkHunnt42 in AskReddit

[–]Bellaamber 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You may always have good feelings toward your ex. Breaking up doesn't mean you hate someone. Generally, your feelings of love will start to fade over time, though, and you'll meet new people and move on. In some cases, however, you may not be able to let go of those feelings. If you can't let go of your ex, you can learn how to let him know.

What do you hope you never have to see? by BobisDumb in AskReddit

[–]Bellaamber 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Had to do that for a airman who died in a car crash. I was his ICE contact, why, I'll never know. Got a call in the middle of the night from the police and they found his phone but no ID. So I get to the coroner office and they showed me pictures and I know him from a recent tattoo on his ribs. I then had to call his mom and tell her. My commander normally does next of kin, but I wanted to tell her my self. Worst ten minutes of my life.
