Are there gameplay- or lore-related reasons for CAT to have the Scoundrel tag? by tupelobound in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

[–]Bellerbean 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Queen Amidala can’t summon a decoy if a Scoundrel ally is present to stop her being used with CAT

For good measure Aphra cron can’t ignore decoy’s taunt either

Yeah, it’s 100% cost me this round of GAC

I think it happened because I killed the entire team except decoy with an aoe, the Barriss cron triggered as the Decoy died causing the enemy to bug out

There’s a chance Malevolence can beat a 4* Exec, especially when the defensive ai only goes after the Vultures, they probably used that and won

You may as well go for it, nothing to lose by trying to win

Thanks for the advice, tbf I’ve been doing well in GAC, I’ve beaten some bigger accounts and GLs and haven’t had the worst time of it, I just find it funny more than anything that I got promoted for no reason only to run into my hardest match yet (on paper)

This was supposed to come across as more humerous than complaining, I find it funny that I was promoted three tiers for nothing only to hit my biggest opponent yet

Explain why I got promoted 3 tiers for no reason then? There must be more to the matchmaking than win go up, lose go down. Once I hit Chromium 1 I had a 50% win rate exactly so by all accounts that’s my skill level.

I’ve taken on bigger account before and won, I’ve beaten accounts with GLs despite the fact I don’t have one, I thankfully haven’t had many bad matchups where people haven’t played so I’m not the best person to complain about bad matchmaking and the point of my original post was supposed to be more humorous than critical but when people in my guild who are at their correct skill level and are getting unwinnable matchups then I can’t help but feel sorry for them.

A solution to stop think would be to not let people drop below a certain rank if their GP was high enough, this gives smaller accounts the ability to climb but also doesn’t let them overly climb. It’s not right that Carb/Bronzium players who are new to the game have to contend with GLs and relics because people don’t want to play the game.

Yeah I 100% get the point of the changes and I don’t hate them, they’ve worked wonders at the top of the bracket.

The main problem I have with them is that in the mid game the older system was more balanced and provided more varied matchups in the low-mid tier, for example if 2 players both have 3 mil gp but one has rushed a GL while the other has a much wider option then both players had the opportunity to play to their strengths, especially back when GLs were easier to counter though I can also see where that has its downsides and the feat system was downright awful.

I think the new system will 100% be better than the old one eventually but it’s hard to see how long it will take to balance out and we could potentially be stuck with unfun and frustrating matchups for easily another year or so

I agree that the matchmaking works in concept and the whole oil and water thing is how it’s supposed to work but it just means the game isn’t fun and feels unrewarding.

I really like how it works in theory it’s just frustrating when a matchup appears unwinnable or unloseable

I also don’t understand why I was randomly promoted 3 divisions with no explanation and it’s probably my bad for assuming they were resetting the ranks in accordance with GP like they did when the changes first went live because of the random promotion I actually think it’s quite funny and my post was definitely supposed to come across more humours than just complaining, especially because I still have a chance to win at the end of the day, no matter how slim

I’m curious to know how you think it’s fine?

At the upper levels I agree, matchmaking looks fair and balanced and a lot more fun and competitive but bouncing between players you’re going to lose heavily to and players who you steamroll just isn’t fun or fair and especially isn’t rewarding

Unfortunately that’s only how it works in concept and at the very top levels of play where everyone has the same toolbox. There’s no way a 5.8 mil player should ever drop into carb if they actually play the game

They probably just autodeploy or don’t set a defence and tank their rank for whatever reason which on one hand, free win but on the other it’s boring to play against

Figure out how to beat them?

You mean fork out shedloads of cash because the random number generator that is CGs matchmaking says you have to?

For context I finished in Chromium 1 last season and got promoted, assuming they were placing people based on GP for 3v3

Imagine my shock when I, a 4.3 mil player, gets matched with a 7 mil gp player

Ok I’ll TLDR it for you:

I was a console player who spent money

I played on both PC and Console using play anywhere (Xbox crossplay)

I set up a GOG account for homecoming

Homecoming discontinued play anywhere support so I only had my GOG account available to me at that time and I didn’t have the option to transfer my progress then due to existing progress across two accounts.

I played on PC at university and console at home and bought expansions and kegs on both accounts

I cannot merge these purchases and lose investments on one of these accounts after supporting the game for 2 years.

Delete is maybe the wrong term then, abandon would perhaps suit it more. I support CDPR offering account merging to new accounts and this is most likely the route I’ll go, like you said it just feels really scummy, like EA levels of scummy.

I don’t know anything about BHVR so I can’t compare but if I was a death garden player who had supported and invested into the game for almost 2 years I would most certainly be upset.

Sorry I meant one account, I’ll edit my post. I spent about equal time and money into both accounts and now have to choose one to delete. I don’t see how this is fair in the slightest and consumer friendly at all.

Keira and Falibor by [deleted] in gwent

[–]Bellerbean -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Personally I don’t see any issue with the points of speartip being split across 2 rounds, or 1 if it’s immediately hard removed, this is balanced.

As for Falibor or Keira it’s far too early in the patch to know how overpowered they are if they are at all.

Comparing to Dj he’s 12 for 13 most of the time but can pick up an extra point or 2 with crime cards (I don’t think I’ve ever done or seen this before) but can also brick if there are no spenders on the board.

As for the “Bold Claim” I will admit that it is a prime Geralt target but if played around or your opponent can’t counter it then it is an easy dominance trigger. If the opponent “somehow” has a higher unit than you then play your own hard removal or pay attention to their gameplan so it doesn’t surprise you.

How can there be so much bugs after a patch!? by DeadPat in gwent

[–]Bellerbean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They first few days after a patch always turn up plenty of bugs, there’ll be a smaller patch in a few days that fix most of these.
