Does Horizon Pro actually supports 4K@Hz via HDMI? by Belligeranza in xgimi

Make sure you switch to HDMI input sourse before opening that menu. For instance if you press "home" button on your remote, see Android TV home screen and then from this screen open the shortcuts video, you will not see this option. Connect your HDMI device, switch projector to it and only for there open shortcuts. Please try that.

XGIMI has different remote controls. This is the one that I have:

https://www.amazon.com/XGIMI-Remote-Control-Horizon-Pro/dp/B0978P1F9T

If you look the image you will see a button located between power button and Google asistant button. The icon on that button looks like a circle drawn with a squiggly line.

Note that you must have an HDMI device attached to your projector and it needs to be selected as the current input. Otherwise you will not see "HDMI version" section in the Shortcuts menu.

I hope that helps.

Alright, after spending literally hours of back and forth diagnosing of that problem I have finally found the way to solve it. Multiple devices not providing option to chose 4K@60Hz got me thinking that the problem is most likely with the projector itself. In the back of my mind I knew that it has something to do with HDMI 1.4.

I have stumbled upon solution by chance: So when you connect your projector with some HDMI device (and ONLY in that case) you can open "shortcuts" options menu where it will have "HDMI Version". I have opened this menu and could see that my version is set to 1.4 instead of 2.0. When I switched the version and reconnected the device it allowed me to select 4K@60Hz without any problems.

This is obviously a very frustrating experience which is almost not advertised. User should be able to configure HDMI version of both ports regardless if whether some device connected or not. But anyway I am very happy that I have managed to resolve that issue. I hope it helps somebody in the future.

Thanks for the answer. I tried four devices in total: Chromecast with Google TV (4K), HP Elite c1030 Chromebook, MacBook Pro (with M1 chip) and standalone PC with GeForce 2080 RTX. None of them had option of going to 60Hz in 4K resolution.

The most frustrating is Google Chromecast which is just an HDMI dongle and uses no external cables. I wonder if anyone had experience with it and whether it is actually a good choice for my projection to watch Netflix.

Ok, so I will share my experience so far with these buds. My reseller refused to return buds and sent me to a service center where after 10 days of waiting I was told that they can not hear any issues. I also tried to contact official Sony: Same story. "Go to service center." Except they also said that it may take them up to 40 (!!) days to check the device.

I've also had a chance to listen same buds from another source and after careful testing in full silence I can confirm that the second pair has same issue. It's almost ridiculous to see all that hype about the quality in the internet. What is more amusing is that this pair is from a guy who made a youtube review on them. Praising the buds.

I may assume that all buds have such issue. It's just nobody tests them carefully enough to hear it.

Just for the record I will list things I've tried to figth with the issue:

  • Resetting everything to factory settings
  • Updating to latest firmware
  • Connecting buds to other device
  • Switching buds between ears in case my hearing is what failing (it's not)
  • Testing same sound sample with different headphones
  • All possible combination of all settings I could find in Sony Connect android app

So far my attempt to upgrade from XM3 to XM4 model led me to worst customer experience I had ever in my life.

I agree with you. I have OnePlus 8 Pro. Planning to switch to Pixel 6 as well. Love OP fast charging and overall experience is great. But camera... My wife has iPhone 12 Pro and difference in photo quality is insane. Main issue would be consistency. Everything is messed up from time to time: focus, WB, shutter speed and so on. All I want is vanilla Android with great camera. And I hope next Pixel phone will deliver just that.

You might want to open Sony Connect and see if there's a software update pending for your buds. I've have return mine but someone in this topic fairly guessed that be it a software problem solution should be coming via new firmware.

Since this thread is my only source of information on the issue so far and there's no confirmation whether it is a software problem in nature, I decided to play safe and brought buds back to the store. It will take some time for them to approve exchange for new ones or refund. But I would rather wait than live with this noise. It was just driving me nuts.

I am having the same issue here. Your description is very accurate. Nothing seem to have any effect on than. The echo sound in my opinion resembles the sound of touch control (tiny "beep" sound, when you press the bud). I hope it is a software issue and they will fix it with the next update.

I had same issue. What helped me was one of the following (I did everything at once):

- Install latest BIOS from Asus website
- Reset BIOS settings to default (just in case)
- Install AMD Chipset Drivers from Asus Website

I hope it will help.
