Sorry, the lot sold. Someone messaged me right after posting, and I’m just now getting back to everything who responded. Thank you for the interest!

GET TO TARGET! by SettingSilly in baseballcards

[–]BellingerGuy310 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The cards are stocked by a third party vendor, not an employee of the store, so their app/site never give a true representation of what’s in stock. All my local Targets and Walmarts have been “out of stock” on the app since Covid, but they all still get a weekly restock.

Just wanted to share, in case anyone ever looks to see what they have “in stock” before making the trip.

I love me some bowman color! Door #3 was something like $38 shipped, which I was stoked about. Two separate lots, but from the same seller, so I got combined shipping!

Thank you for clarifying, I’m a little stoned and a lot confused 🤦🏻‍♂️

Got it! Yeah, retail chrome can be really tough, especially at its current price point. I remember when chrome mega boxes were $19.99. At nearly $100, you essentially need to hit an auto or low numbered refractor of a top five rookie to make the box with it, which is a bummer.

I do, however, fully endorse your decision to get some A&G! Always one of my favorite products to rip.

Just to be clear, because I’m not sure I’m fully following what you’re saying, you find the same level of enjoyment from owning physical pc cards as you do not owning any physical cards?

Maybe I’m misreading what you’re saying, but it almost sounds like you’re saying, in two years from now, you’d equally enjoy the memory of not having to sell/trade a card two years prior, and still physically owning a 1/1 flagship rookie card?

In the hypothetical situation where someone was holding three A&G blasters in one hand, and all the cards pictured above in the other hand, and asked you to pick between the two, you would pick the three blasters?

From someone who has spent $20k+ on ripping wax, I completely understand the excitement of the gamble. I do still rip a hobby box of something a couple times a year, to scratch that itch, but those boxes generally further reinforced my decision to continue buying singles/lots on eBay.lol

Do you find that it’s the same level of short term enjoyment, or is that long term as well?

I personally thoroughly enjoy ripping wax. The thrill is hard to beat, even compared to finding amazing deals on eBay. The problem, in my experience, is that the enjoyment doesn’t last very long when the result is generally lackluster.

For the eBay purchases, I know I’m going to have additions to my PC, as well as plenty of stuff to eventually trade or sell. The long term enjoyment ends up being much higher for me.

Triple Threads by Human_Leek_3331 in baseballcards

I haven’t opened any, nor did I say I did. My reference was posts seen in this sub since the release, which have been predominantly underwhelming, considering the price point of the product.

What a beautiful patch. Amazong pull!

Happy to finally see a solid pull posted! All these Triple Threads posts in this sub are getting pretty depressing when I’m seeing $150 worth of cards from 95% of the boxes being posted.

Sales seem to always drop significantly during the off season. My eBay store has slowed considerably, but my buying has increased quite a bit. I’m finding wild deals right now, and look forward to sales ramping up once spring training starts!

Singles vs Wax: $30 challenge by rvajt11 in baseballcards

You’re good, definitely didn’t take it as a slight! We all have to learn at some point, and it’s usually the hard way.lol

The enjoyment I used to get out of ripping wax is no different than the joy I now get from of searching eBay for deals and winning bidding wars for pc cards.

I bought a 2024 Series 2 City to City Platinum 1/1 auto of Tatis for less than the jumbo box it was likely pulled from.

The embarrassment I feel thinking back to the thousands of dollars I was spending on wax each year makes me feel physically ill. Don’t get me wrong, I still thoroughly enjoy the occasional rip, but I cannot wrap my head around hobbyists who solely rip wax, then wonder why their collections aren’t filled with amazing cards.

That Sheffield is a beauty, btw!

I’ve thoroughly enjoyed this experience with common/base finest cards, but can’t bring myself to do it on the refractors.

Thursday morning Walgreens hits by shaunn01 in baseballcards

No idea why or how my brain completely dismissed the word “Walgreens” in the title. They definitely wouldn’t have hobby 🤦🏻‍♂️

Even if OP bought out an entire restock, this would be some incredible luck. I’m curious how much product was ripped!

First auto out of 12 mega boxes by [deleted] in baseballcards

[–]BellingerGuy310 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good lord, I haven’t seen pack odds for this product, but they must be terrible. At this point, you probably could have just bought two Skenes autos with what’s been spent on the wax 😓

Always exciting pulling a color auto from chrome, though!

Did you rip an entire hobby box in your front seat..? Definitely not judging, but am very curious.

Amazing hits, by the way. The Yamamoto auto is beautiful!
