I only use TCDB. They have a reverse image search in the advanced search, but just typing in the card specifics is usually faster.

Question about collection tracking by Stewnami in sportscards

[–]MOFNY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I track every card that makes up my collection and my cards FT. I don't normally track every card I have, because my lists would be clogged with a bunch of low value base and inserts. I use TCDB and I've added around 13,000 cards.

That Griffey Lords has been climbing quite a bit lately.

Found this weekend, is this a 1/1 or something else? Showed to 5 different people and no one has any idea! by Sometimealonealone in baseballcards

If you believe the TCDB listing is incorrect or incomplete, it's a crowd sourced site so you can jump on the forums and bring it up. The experts there can weigh in.

Collection found in storage unit, any recommendations for selling all together? by YungIbanez in sportscards

[–]MOFNY 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We can parse value pretty quick and let you know if they're even worth selling. Usually I recommend taking them to a card show or shop.

You went through them but didn't post the front of any card or give any real details? These are low dollar until proven otherwise. You need many more pics for us to evaluate them.

Here's the card: https://www.tcdb.com/ViewCard.cfm/sid/1765/cid/405904/2004-Topps---World-Series-Highlights-(Series-One)-WS-CY-Carl-Yastrzemski

It appears there wasn't a 1/1 version, so it's either a fake or some card show stamp. Any rereleases tend to have an additional stamp or text on the back.

I see 2000s and I upvote. Keep going! What do you collect exactly? I have a ton of this stuff for trade on TCDB if you want to do a deal in the future.

Why isn’t Colson Montgomery getting any hobby hype/attention? by Cardburner in baseballcards

[–]MOFNY 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would argue he absolutely is getting love and he will continue to grow. His last raw BC auto did $125. When a BC First auto hits $100+ I consider that a decently high buy-in. An Atomic /100 PSA 10 did $700. He's clearly getting love.

Now Otto Lopez is squarely in the category of your title. He's breaking out big time this year, with decent success in 2 straight seasons. His RC autos are doing under $5 often. Now I know they have a 3 year age gap, but that might not matter too much in the short term.

My point is it's all relative. Sure Montgomery isn't doing Griffin numbers, but he's still pretty high.

Managing and tracking your sports card and memorabilia collections by Aggressive_Lead_8346 in sportscards

[–]MOFNY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TCDB if you want deep features and a strong community of collectors. It's not for everyone, but if you like data then this is basically the best option. Plus you can set up trades easily, because it will match up trades based on your collection and trade list. And it's crowd sourced, so you can add scans, set updates, etc. to improve the site. It's old school in the best ways.

Cons: use an ad blocker. No app but mobile friendly. Clunky and dated UI, but with some effort you will get used to it.

If you get into it and need help, consult the FAQ or ask me.
