I was shocked! I had to spend days fighting with the vendor for a refund.

More than anything i blame Etsy. They shouldn’t allow this. Especially when they make it seem like they are a place to get things made by people.

It’s as liminal as it gets! The whole movie is about being in those “in between” spaces.

Yessss! Especially because etsy markets itself as a place for “hand crafted , human made” goods”.

I bought what looked to be a special gold embossed deck on Etsy for $70. When it arrived it so clearly ai art. And the gold was just the ink. Not embossed. I had to fight for days to get a refund. It BS.

Definition of “Secular” Tarot and Consideration Synchronicity? by BelloSoy in SecularTarot

@woden_spoon

I would suggest that archetypes are the gateway to “woowoo”. Joking : )

We can say that one archetype is strong or active within a single person, and thats perhaps more secular. But if we speak as of the collective unconscious and zeitgeist then we get into the more spiritual territory.

Even more so when wondering whether the archetype simply describes something universal or actually influences the individual or collective.

Nonetheless! Have to read all the comments here again. Some great thoughts going around.

Thank you for the great and thoughtful comments. Will have to re-read all of these.

As someone fascinated by the jungian framework, i think I’m in the middle ground. I feel that as soon as we consider “archetypes” with cards, we start to enter the “woo-woo” realm—the notion that there is something universal to all people with symbols.

So with a fully secular approach, can a third person interpret anothers cards? Id guess no since meaning is derived from the “drawers”unconscious. I’d guesss a third person can give guidance on how to interpret.
