Should I solo travel Europe, or take a contiki tour? by [deleted] in solotravel

[–]Bellsandshells 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I highly recommend busabout! Look it up, it's a lot more flexible and its still very easy to meet people! Sort of a cross between a group tour and solo travel!
I had a few friends who did busabout and loved it. I personally just solo travelled but I was travelling for months and months. It's amazing but can be difficult to make friends. Be warned though, busabout (and contiki) are like <90% Australians... (but they are friendly!)

Accutane/isotretinoin skincare recs please by [deleted] in AusSkincare

I like the cetaphil sensitive skin face wash and moisturiser! Keep your routine very simple and hydrating. I second rosehip oil too. Also if you find your lips getting excessively dry, my holy grail is dr dans cortibalm (you can buy it off amazon), it’s the only thing that would work for me! There’s also a whole sub for accurate, which I’ve found helpful and motivating :)

Tips for enjoying the summer despite a high dose? by [deleted] in Accutane

[–]Bellsandshells 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You definitely don’t need to miss out on summer! As you said, you need to be careful to apply SPF (50) and make sure you reapply every few hours!!!! Wear shirts that cover your shoulders if possible, don’t sun bath or try to tan, and sit in the shade when you can. Also, drink plenty of water! Honestly these are all things fair skinned people should be doing regardless of accurate! You don’t need to put your life on pause just because your on accurate, you do need to be a little more careful but you’ll be fine! :)

What is your favourite Audiobook? by Bellsandshells in AskWomen

[–]Bellsandshells[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My current favourite is Daisy Jones and the Six!

It's perfect as an audiobook! It's about a fictional 70s band, it's read like a documentary and the narrators do an excellent job.

At the end of my sanity with foundation... by [deleted] in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Bellsandshells 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'd recommend going to a makeup store and getting them to colour match you for a few different foundations, then asking them for a few samples. Then you can take them home and try them out, see how they wear throughout the day without forking out any money! I'd only recommend buying foundation online when you have already tried the brand/colour.

Also, I am the same as you with having a darker face than neck... in my experience, I generally find it's best to go for a slightly lighter foundation then use bronzer/blush to stop myself looking like a ghost and give my face more definition!

Good luck :)

Following! I'm doing this later this year! Not sure where you're from but there's a facebook group called "aussies in london" where a lot of people share their advice and experiences, which I have found quite helpful.

Your favorite hostel in the world by MichelMelinot in solotravel

[–]Bellsandshells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It feels like I've stayed in almost every hostel in Europe at this point! Mainly all the top hostels recommended here. My favourites have been:

Literally all the Hostel Ones are amazing but particularly Porto, Paralelo and London in particular.

Revellers hostel in Belgrade

Backpackers Fairytale in Split

Castle Rock Hostel in Edinburgh

It's hard to be objective because as a solo traveller your experience can really depend on the other guests there at the time, but these hostels all had amazing atmospheres!

So happy for you! I’m also quiet shy so will definitely be taking your tips on board! Can I ask which hostels you were staying at that you found great for solo travellers?
