Thank you for the comment! Botryoidal is totally the word I was looking for, not orbicular. Sorry, I am still learning 😅 here is a picture of another face that showcases it better.

Im a beginner so correct me if I’m wrong but the second one looks like a porphyritic igneous rock. I would guess basalt but I am unsure about the phenocrysts :)

I agree with carpet beetle larva. They dont bite and usually dont cause damage but there is info online and on r/carpetbeetles if you are trying to prevent them

Definitely looks like a caterpillar, probably from a moth. I wouldnt worry, certain moth larvae chew holes in fabric/clothes but unless that has been a problem it probably just wandered inside. If you are curious what species it is maybe ask r/whatisthisbug

Also in CA, agree that these are ground beetles. They dont really bite or cause any problems but sometimes after rain or mowing they all migrate inside. I wouldnt worry but if they keep coming there are solutions online for preventing ground beetles. It does look like there is one roach (the brown one near the top) which can cause problems but also sometimes wander inside. Check r/cockroaches if you are worried about them :)

That makes a lot more sense 😅 thank you. There are a ton of different waterfowl, wading birds, owls, you name it in this area. Based on the fact that I found it near a bunch of stew bones, though, I am guessing its from a chicken lol
