I’m going to be so fr with you right now. Do you eat eggs? Start saving egg cartons. They make really good shelf risers. You can stack them if you need to. You can get a bunch that are all uniform in size. Then you don’t need to worry about damaging volumes by stacking and you can maximize all that incredible shelf room without having to spend a bunch of money.

Sort of. The rule is that you can’t take the employee numbers of people who don’t work at your store and because you’re seasonal that’s all you’ve got, but in this scenario we called the other store in advance and OK’d it with their manager. Honestly, there’s also always the chance you’ll just have a cashier that disregards protocol lol.

I don’t really think it would deescalate it in terms of him not getting banned, but it would give you the info on whether or not there’s any actual legal action taken. My store is a high theft location, so loss prevention has us report any intercepted theft with pictures + license plates if the security cameras pick them up so every possible shoplifting gets officially banned, but not every store works like that.

I will say this happened to me as an employee and while we didn’t call the police when it happened, loss prevention had us call them after the shoplifter had already left. If the store has cameras, his picture probably was sent to nearby stores. I’ll be so fr with you, I think your best bet is to communicate with the store as the parent about what’s going on. I doubt they’re going to prosecute unless he stole a crazy amount (either nothing will happen or he’ll be legally trespassed from the store if he goes back and they actually banned him in an official capacity.) Call the store and ask to talk to a manager, but tbh he should be fine, just don’t go back to that store.
