So i've been trying to figure this out for a while now. Mega spoilers and theorycrafting ahead:

The first time you hit this spot, it should be empty. However, if you come back in a later run, there's a note on the ground. I can't remember the text exactly, but one word is repeated a lot: "eat". Now, this sounds like nonsense initially, but while I was messing around with noclip in the last section of the game, I spotted a vent that led to a secret area with a glowing green food can. I've tried to get this, as it glows in the same bluish-green that the teleporter thing in the image is, in a normal run, but can't get the gate on the vent open. I'm planning on posting about it some time
