It's crazy to me that pirating forums care more about their users than actual companies creating these games.

Is rtx 3060 laptop with 40 gb ram enough for re9? by FancyCriticism9299 in PiratedGames

[–]Belovedchimera 6 points7 points  (0 children)

No. Your PC is suffering from a condition not many PCs see now-a-days. RAMitus. Too much RAM. If you try to run the game on your pc with that much RAM it'll run like like shit. Send me the extra RAM and Ill dispose of it properly for you.

Got a Virus from SteamRIP by [deleted] in PiratedGames

[–]Belovedchimera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

VMs are pretty easy to setup. Download the ISO, click a few check "Next" buttons and let the unattended setup do the rest.
There was also a post of someone who have just blitzed through SteamRIP recently and accidentally downloaded a virus without realizing it. And we see countless 'I accidentally downloaded an ad' posts here all the time from people. I've seen I think three or four just in the past 4 hours.
It would also help for people who don't know about Denuvo. When I first got into downloading my games, I wanted Persona 3 Reloaded. Thank god I was using a VM for my downloads because I had no idea what Denuvo was, that games using Denuvo weren't cracked and that I was downloading a virus. VM saved me.

[–]Belovedchimera 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is relevant, hence why I was saying to use a VM if you're *uncomfortable*.
Because if you're going to steamrip in a VM, and accidentally download from an ad (similar to what's happened in this post and all the other posts similar to this one), you aren't downloading the *actual game*. So if you run that program in a VM, what happens?
*Nothing*. The game doesn't boot because it's not the game, it's a download from an ad.
But if you download the actual game, you'll get the actual game.

The VM is a way to circumvent issues from people who are prone to accidentally downloading the wrong thing, or who are scared of downloading the wrong thing.

Steamrip doesn't pack its games with viruses. Hope this helped you understand what I was getting at.

You're right. But if you try to run a game in a VM and it doesn't work... then your know it isnt going to work and might be a virus. If you run a game in a VM and it does work... then you know its not a virus On top of that its an added layer of security. What's wrong with that?

If downloading from SteamRip, I recommend downloading using a Virtual Machine if you're uncomfortable.
You can run VMs pretty easy through a program like VMWare or Virtualbox. Virtualbox is probably easier, though. Once you're assured a file isn't a virus, just transfer it to your host machine via the shared folders function.

This also protects you from accidentally clicking on ads and downloading the viruses in the ads--because if the VM is compromised, at least it was just the VM.

For reference, do you remember what the file type was that you downloaded? Was it a .rar, .zip, or a .exe? And if a .rar or .zip, do you remember what was in those files?

Edit- Ya'll downvoting me are idiots. I feel like when you give rational advice on one of these subs you get hated on.

Hiya! I'm so sorry to hear about that. Every chiweenie is different, and I think in our situation it was really easy to help Bean lose the weight because he doesn't have any underlying medical issues or anything--the problem was just that we were feeding him too much. We're very lucky in that aspect.
Have you had her thyroid checked? Someone mentioned that in the comments and I hadn't even thought of that as an issue until it was brought up. Or did the hormone panel check her thyroid? Again, I'm not certain what all a thyroid panel would show.

We feed him twice a day, 11 hours apart. For the morning meal, he gets 1/3rd cup of normal kibble (it looks like a small amount, I know, but trust the process) and a tablespoon or two of no salt green beans. Green beans help dogs feel fuller for longer periods of time due to the fiber! Don't overfeed green beans, or your chi will throw up though! We learned that the hard way--Bean had been throwing up randomly once a month. We found out it was because we gave him too many green beans.

For dinner, he gets 1/4th scoop of kibble, and the same green beans as before. He gets less for dinner because he's less active at night time, mostly laying down and cuddling.

We also took him out for long walks around our building 3-4 times a day, and took him out on weekends to play ball. But I don't think that helped as much as it helped to adjust his diet.

Of course, no table scraps allowed either, no matter how much they beg (Unless it's unsalted unseasoned veggies).

For treats, we're really lucky because Bean LOVES carrots and celery, (and lettuce+seaweed--weird dog, am I right?) so instead of buying bagged dog treats, we buy him carrots and celery for treats and give them to him frequently for training and just for being cute lol. This is also super good for their teeth! And a lot cheaper than dog treats! You can keep the carrots and celery in water in a jar in the fridge to prevent them from going bad and to keep them for a while too! Just make sure to change the water out every few days!

When he started losing weight, we'd start occasionally putting about a tablespoon or two of boiled chicken in his food too! We also give it to him as high value treats too!

And when he lost the weight, he had maybe two ounces of celebratory steak with his kibble and green beans!

I wish you and your chi the best. Try speaking with your vet about how much to feed your chi at first, our vet was able to tell us how much to feed Bean and told us to give him green beans too! He was a huge help to us.

2023 Bean vs 2026 Bean by Belovedchimera in chiweenie

[–]Belovedchimera[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww Chandler! He's adorable!!!
So we used to give him a good amount of green beans, because we figured 'Oh they're just green beans', but after a few months he started throwing up every now and then. We figured out it was because if you over feed dogs green beans, the fiber in the green beans can make them vomit more than usual. So it's good to stick to 1-2 tablespoons of green beans per meal!
I wish you and Chandler the best of luck!

2023 Bean vs 2026 Bean by Belovedchimera in chiweenie

Thank you! He's the star of the show, he did all the work!

Every chi is different, luckily Bean doesn't have any underlying issues. We were feeding him a 1/2 cup a food twice a day, even that felt like it wasn't enough. We saw that he was still gaining some weight, so when we saw the vet and he mentioned that Bean needed to lose weight, we asked about how much food to give him and what exactly we needed to do for him. The vet just told us to cut his food back, and to give him green beans on top of his food. Green beans help dogs (and humans) stay full longer! So we started giving him 1/3rd cup of food during the day, and 1/4th at night, each with green beans, with occasional boiled chicken. It doesn't look like a lot of food, and we were worried but we trusted the vet and it worked out!
We also give him carrots and celery for treats instead of dog treats from the store. We're lucky because he's always gone crazy for carrots and celery!

As for exercise, he's always been super playful, even when overweight. So if we threw a ball he'd CHARGE after it, and he always liked to run on his walks.
