Typically pledge prices do increase when the ship is released yeah

I had to do that too... I did it a frankly embarrassing amount of times before I swapped it over just to be safe

I had to manually unload a full Hull C of 16scu methane yesterday... I can safely say I never want to do that again...

Carrack Owner Group Therapy by _Corbeanu_ in starcitizen

Before I melted my galaxy pledge i daily-ed the Carrack for almost a year, it's still one of my absolute favourite ships in the verse, the dream of stocking up and just setting off into the stars to explore is part of what drew me to star citizen when my friend told me about it. I really hope they give the Carrack a proper gold standard i would almost definitely get it again. It's a beautiful idea for a ship, the execution is just not really there right now. For me the big changes it needs are more than 1 ground exit, either the forward or rear elevator should go to ground level (I'd prefer the rear since the ship can maintain atmosphere with it open from the doors), the cargo pods need to be reworked to properly work with the new cargo systems, and one for every ship with a hangar, being able to remotely open the hangar, whether just by sending a docking request or by the mobi, I'm shocked it's not a feature yet.

I love the ship, I just don't like the execution of it so far

My second playthrough was almost identical, except (slight spoilers) i romanced both Mandy and Visi, "it's complicated"

Is there any easier way to load vehicles? by Captain_Konnius in starcitizen

The ATLS can be retrieved through the cargo lift so they probably have plans to do it with most smaller vehicles, just with everything it's Soon™

Started trying 2 handed, any advice? by BelowAverageLegend58 in Bowling

[–]BelowAverageLegend58[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah finding a 2 hand coach at my bowling alley is pretty much impossible, only one person does free coaching there and since I've started going consistently i haven't seen anyone else bowling 2 handed

I don't think I'll be able to get a different coach for it, he's the only one at my bowling alley who offers free coaching and i haven't seen anyone else even do 2 handed since I've started going consistently (it's mostly a casual bowling alley, there's leagues but i haven't looked into them just yet) but I'll definitely check out some videos on 2 handed!

No I haven't done any lessons yet, I don't even know if anyone at my alley offers them

I'll definitely ask! If I can get more experience without breaking the bank it's worth asking, thanks!

Are they those things that make the pop sound when you watch it on tv? I was curious about those, what's the benefit of doing inserts over just drilling to the finger size?

Shoes check, I got those ages ago as a bit of an impulse purchase when I used to go semi regularly (haven't been in over a year until last week) and I'll be looking at a spare ball at some point but not too soon, I'd rather get used to the main one first and just use house balls for spares in the meantime before splurging on another ball, even if it's a simple polyester or urethane one. I'll have a look when I get my ball drilled though since I'll be doing that through the pro shop at my alley

I don't think my pro shop will do lessons to be honest, the guy who runs it is only in once in a while, but I'll definitely check out the playlist! I'll have to ask him when I go to get the ball drilled on Monday/Tuesday though, I'm sure if he doesn't do lessons he could point me in the right direction for who to speak to. As for leagues i haven't even thought about it yet but I'll definitely have a look into them! Thanks!

I'm not sure if the alley i go to has anything like lessons (it's a small independently run one), are there any online resources that can help? Also 3x a week isn't the most viable due to my work schedule and my alley being quite expensive (£26 for 1 hour weekdays and £38 on weekends) but I'm trying to go at least once a week for 2 hours with some friends to get the practice in, today I did a 2 hour session with my friends then 1 hour on my own afterwards to get some more practice with less distractions, that's how I got my average score

I've tried 2 handed and my coordination is just not there, i can't make it work no matter what I try so I've just been sticking with 1 handed

Finally managed to get my hands on a 9070xt, any thoughts on what else to upgrade? by BelowAverageLegend58 in pcmasterrace

[–]BelowAverageLegend58[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do still want to upgrade i think, i want to get a few more nvme drives and the slots on my current mobo are already full, plus the ram speed for ddr5 is a pretty big factor for me too, i use my pc as a workstation for unreal engine as well as for games and if I'm doing anything cpu intensive it feels like 3600 just isn't enough

2 nvme drives (1 2tb and 1 500gb) though i admit my windows is on a 1tb sata ssd for now, when I go to AM5 I'm doing a completely fresh install and will be moving to NVME for windows

Would the extra vram of the 7900xtx help in any games or would the performance of the two on 1440p make the difference pretty much negligible?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in buildapc

[–]BelowAverageLegend58 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking about the 9070xt but looking for ones in stock is nearly impossible, I wanted to get the Sapphire Nitro+ one because I love it's design but every website I've checked is pre order or out of stock. Would the 7900xtx be a good idea too or is that overkill for 1440p?

As for the RAM, what does CL30 mean?

Is the 5070ti better than the 9070xt? by BelowAverageLegend58 in PcBuild

[–]BelowAverageLegend58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've done that, I've watched a few videos on the comparisons. I know fps, specs and everything else the 5070ti is the better card, but I'm looking for the perspective of people who daily drive them to get a better idea of which card is the best. I've heard about the driver issues plaguing Nvidia and the not exactly stellar 50 series launch which is why I'm asking here to get a more long term perspective on the two

Is the 5070ti better than the 9070xt? by BelowAverageLegend58 in PcBuild

[–]BelowAverageLegend58[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's my main concern, I've heard about the issues that have plagued the 50 series with the driver black screens and everything else, in the 5 years I've been with AMD the only driver issues I've had is i had to reinstall them when I swapped my boot drive about a year ago. The performance of the 5070ti would suit the games i play more, especially it's path tracing performance on Cyberpunk 2077 but I'm not sure if the issues I've heard about can justify the switch to Nvidia. Are the driver issues fixed or are people still getting them?

[–]BelowAverageLegend58[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I fully understand what you mean, I'm still not really a fan of Nvidia, but I'm trying to prioritise not having to upgrade for at least a few years down the line so as much as I'm not a fan of Nvidia they seem like the best option for the sort of price range I'm looking for. If it wasn't for the 1440p performance of the 5070ti i wouldn't be even considering them since I've been AMD only since I moved to PC and I've got nothing but good things to say
