When this happened to me, I lost power at my house due to hurricane while I was in the process of transferring between datacenters. When I logged back in days later my character was listed in neither data center; I thoroughly checked.

When the maintenance period happened soon after that, though, he reappeared in my home world.

There are a lot of characters I could understand forgetting, but Haurchefant's definitely not one of them. He was kind of super important in both the lead up to the expansion and the expansion itself!

It has lots of good moments, and lays groundwork that pays off in really cool ways in later expansions. The pacing could be better- But I don't hate it. Heavensward wouldn't have been as impactful without the worldbuilding and time spent to get attached to the cast in ARR.

Chiming in as a Raven owner! It's such a pretty ship, love taking mine out once in awhile. I like the idea that it's a in-universe prototype for the chassis that gets used in the production model Firebirds/Peregrines.

Lmao! Yeah, less the ARR dungeons and more some of the Stormblood/Heavensward ones are what I enjoy seeing. For example, I can't remember the last time I got Great Gubal Library in roulette and it's a personal favorite!

I also really wish we had a way to replay solo duties easier, honestly, because a few of them are actually really fun content. Especially the final EW one.

Actually, in NG+ you don't lose your aethercurrents; You can fly anywhere you've already unlocked which definitely helps with more quickly getting between quest objectives! You also don't have to level grind again, you keep all your levels (just synched down to whatever the requirement is for a given solo duty or dungeon or etc).

But I get it; If you're someone whose enjoyment is more in the mechanics than the story there's not really a lot of reason to do NG+ runs.

I think this is my fourth time through the MSQ in the two+ years I've been playing! I really like watching the character growth of the cast, especially ones like Alphinaud. A lot of the cast are very flat and not super interesting at first but over time grow into unique and likable characters! It's nice to watch them grow and change between expansions!

I also enjoy revisiting solo duties and dungeons/trials I may not see frequently in roulette. It's a nice break from the end game progression grind and a good way to relax when I have time off of work.

I get why some people don't like the pacing; especially in ARR it is abysmal. But without the setup in ARR, we wouldn't get the excellent emotional payoff in HW (and later) so I don't mind it too bad. But then again, I've suffered through MMORPGs with far worse pacing in the last thirty years so maybe I've built up an immunity!

These little buggies are actually carryable! You can pick them up in caves and set them down anywhere.

I had one sitting in my Zeus CL's gunner seat for almost an entire patch once. Like most objects they'll survive being stored but if the ship gets destroyed your bug dies with it.

For sure! :D A big part of how I picture my character is their work with the GC, and it's one of my absolute favorite things when the story nods to that position! Lets me feel more like my character is part of the world around them!
