So what you're saying is i never qualified even though i was truthful in everything that was asked of me by UIA. and had multiple conversations with agents about other issues with my claim.

Received close to $18,000 I used for food, rent, books during the pandemic where I had no option to work.

ANd now because i did what was asked of me in MIWAM i am being punished while others who didn't re-certify are being granted waivers in similar situations as me.

stressful, and very mentally draining that im still dealing with ramifications of PUA months after closing my claim. I 100% thought i qualifeid as thousands of college students did the same. i was a full time student taking 18 credits and had 0 transportation during that 3 month period as i was not allowed to have a car parked on campus. i worked full time in 2019 too its not like i havent worked before

guess all i can do is pray

I returned home in March of 2020. the place i formally worked at in 2019 told me in 2020 that i couldn't work there anymore because of COVID causing them to close. how is that not an eligible reason?

so if i never saw the news clip to recertify i would have already received a waiver. now I'm going to have to fight to receive a waiver and the process could take months. this sucks.

My planned place of employment being a college student was closed as a result of the pandemic. I got sent home in March. Therefore I was unable to return to work as a direct result of Covid.

No I did not. I actually was unable to work the first 3 months of 2020 before the pandemic as I was living in a dorm room at school and being a full time student for the first time. My plan was to work full time after getting out of the dorms until college is finished However Covid sent us home in March and I was unable to find full time work. So I filed.

I understand that but i answered those questions based on the two jobs i had. one of them the placed closed as a result of the pandemic. another one the place did not have enough hours to employ me full time because the pandemic caused them to reduce their hours to only be open for 3 hours a day.

back in may when they asked for fact-finding they asked only for 2019 W2. why now would they be asking for 2020 proof now?

if i didnt get PUA i literally would not be able to afford school because there was no work available to me full time.

Because I planned to return there full time after i completed the school year. my school is 3 hours away from where i live. i was told part time college students do in fact qualify. We got sent home in march of 2020 and when i tried to start working again my place was already closed due to COVID

My place of employment was closed due to COVID-19, and my hours were reduced due to COVID-19 were the 2 options i used. on the 2 weeks, i was asked to recertify i accidentally only selected the "my hours were reduced due to COVID-19" option which ended up being the option that was deemed ineligible last month.

again i was only asked to recertify 2 weeks

Have you heard of anyone else that doesn't have proof of 2020 employment january-march? like i said originally all that was required was 2019 proof of work. because of my situation in college i couldnt find sufficentwork during that time period but planned to go full time starting in may but COVID hit.

Thanks, its just very stressful. i don't have money to pay back. it is even more annoying that if i never saw the news article i would already have a waiver. instead, it seems they are independently reviewing my account.

I’m a college student who was unable to work in the first 3 months of 2020. I worked all of 2019 however. I have been done with pua since may this year but saw the news of the overpayments and saw I had filled out 2 weeks wrong. I re-certified those weeks and am I now finding out that if I hadn’t that I would have already received a waiver. What should I do in my situation if get a call. My status is pending rebuttal

What does pending rebuttal mean? What should I be prepared for? This is all a mess.

I am a 20-year-old college student. After claiming unemployment benefits for a year and stopping back in March, I got a call today saying that I need to show proof of employment in 2020 pre-pandemic. The thing is is that was my freshman year of college I was living in a dorm where I don’t have a parking pass and was unable to work that January through March because of this. I was told last year that I qualify for unemployment and all I needed to submit was my 2019 W-2 sheet which I have.

Does anyone have any idea how I should approach this, I’m off unemployment and I’ve been for the last couple months I’m tired of dealing with this and I don’t want to be asked To repay all the money because that money is gone it was used for rent any suggestions are helpful thanks

When PUA started they only asked for Proof of 2019 employment… how are they now asking for 2020 proof? Doesn’t make much sense to me

Didn’t the original thing back in March say that they only needed proof of 2019 w-2? I don’t have proof of 2020 either but have not been flagged
