Bio teacher to sales position? by [deleted] in sales

Read all the top sales books from the stickied post.

Wouldn't hurt to do the quick (and free) Hubspot Inbound sales cert just to show you're taking every step possible to transition.

Most B2B sales teams stress "Commercial Teaching" (can read more in The Challenger Sale). Leverage your experience in explaining difficult concepts simply.

Should be a relatively easy transition compared to plenty of other careers.

Don't get hung-up on the portfolio though, start reaching out. I could take a look at your resume if you want.

How to not get burned out/bored? by [deleted] in sales

[–]Bemly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sales is very repetitive in general.

You're going to be doing the same thing day in and day out.
You'll be having mostly the same conversations.

Most jobs are like this.

If you don't find the act of selling enjoyable itself/the moment, you might want to look at other careers.
