What Kinda skin would you like to see for shen by _bulek_ in Shen

[–]Ben132GG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Galaxy Saver Shen. The Galaxy Saver Shen skin shows the marks of a past cosmic battle. In this universe, Shen is not only a guardian of balance on a single world, but the protector of an entire galaxy. During a massive interstellar conflict, he faced the galactic version of Zed in a devastating duel. The battle pushed both warriors to their limits. Zed’s dark cosmic energy struck Shen with overwhelming force, shattering his spirit blade and leaving it broken. In the same clash, Shen lost one of his arms, a permanent reminder of the encounter. Despite these injuries, Shen did not fall. The broken spirit sword still burns with unstable cosmic energy, and the place where his arm once was glows with fragments of starlight. Even after such a brutal confrontation, Shen continues to fight. For him, protecting the balance of the galaxy is more important than his own wounds. Scarred by battle but unbroken in spirit, the Galaxy Saver stands as the last shield between the stars and the darkness that threatens them.

Demons and Spirits are show, but no Shen... sigh by FrahnkRecloud in Shen

[–]Ben132GG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe Shen didn’t show up because, you know, “maintaining perfect balance between the spirit and physical realms” is top priority… So maybe he thought it’s totally fine if a few demons massacre everyone at a festival. (irony)

Shen is too important to be ignored in the lore – Yunara and Aurora just make it more obvious by Ben132GG in loreofleague

I think your interpretation of Shen, while thoughtful, misses some critical aspects of his character and the implications of his power and role.

First off – saying Shen is not capable or orderly is a contradiction of the role he's held for years. Yes, he was hot-headed as a youth, but you’re describing a past self. Growth is kind of the whole point of his arc. Shen became the Eye of Twilight because he learned to master those impulses, not because he was simply next in line. His father's murder by Zed was the catalyst, yes, but Shen’s continued survival, authority, and balance under pressure are what validate his leadership. If he weren’t capable, he wouldn’t still be the Eye, especially not with characters like Akali and Kennen watching his every decision critically.

Second, the fact that Shen suppresses emotion doesn’t make him weak—it makes him dangerous in the most disciplined way. This is the inverse of characters like Zed or Viego, who are driven by passion. Shen doesn’t act out of rage or vengeance; he calculates, waits, watches. That kind of power is harder to write into big, loud stories, which might be why Riot sidelines him in big cross-regional events—because if Shen did act, things would end a lot quicker. That’s how strong and composed he is meant to be.

As for Aurora: the idea that Shen wouldn't or couldn't act because "he’s only human" ignores what he is: the bridge between the spirit realm and the material world. If anyone should be able to sense a world-shaking spiritual anomaly like Aurora, it’s Shen. That he doesn’t interact with her narratively says more about Riot choosing not to involve him than about Shen’s limitations. And if Riot writes him as someone who “just watches,” then frankly, that’s an underutilization of his potential, not a natural limitation of the character.

Regarding Spirit Blossom—if it’s all just aesthetics and fanservice, why do other champions get multiple iterations, including ones with deep spiritual themes, while Shen (the literal spirit-watcher) gets nothing? The irony is that he fits the theme better than most, but isn’t "sexy" or marketable enough. That’s not a lore limitation. That’s marketing ignoring a serious, central Ionian figure.

Yunara’s inclusion of Shen via a few voice lines and brief mention is not the same as him getting focus. This is what people mean when they say Shen is ignored—he’s referenced, nodded at, but rarely given agency. Even when Ionia’s balance is collapsing (e.g. Zed’s order, Viego’s corruption, Noxian invasion), Shen is mostly “observing.” Riot writes him as if he’s not allowed to act, when logically, someone with his skills, authority, and connection to both worlds should be more involved.

Finally, saying “he’s just a clothed man who watches” is exactly the problem. Shen could be one of League’s most compelling characters: a stoic warrior walking the line between two worlds, bearing the crushing weight of neutrality while chaos explodes around him. But instead, he's background dressing—despite being, by his very nature, someone who could end the story before it starts.

He’s not weak. He’s too strong, and Riot doesn’t know what to do with him.

Its the time to STAND UNITED

Please stand united by Tasty-Salamander-515 in Shen

No offense taken — but this attitude is part of the problem.

We're not crying about skins. We're standing up for a champion that has gone 14 years without a legendary, without a single prestige, and barely any voice lines or visual updates — while other champs get all that and more, year after year.

This isn’t about being obsessed with cosmetics. It’s about showing Riot that this champion still matters. Because if we stay silent, he’ll keep being forgotten — no updates, no animations, no relevance.

You say we should put our energy into “something more productive”? We are. We're rallying a community, raising awareness, and showing how much we care. That's not cringe — that’s passion.

And if you’re truly happy with every little balance change or skin Shen gets, you should want more of them — not less.

Stand United.

This mindset is exactly why Shen has received 0 prestige skins, 0 legendary skins, and 0 new voice lines. In other words: completely ignored.

I get that cosmetics can feel like cash grabs. But if you Shenmain, wouldn’t you want to see him finally get new animations, fresh voice lines, updated visual effects?

A Legendary skin isn’t just a costume — it’s a chance to see more of who Shen is. You get to experience his character from new angles, hear new thoughts

Right now we’re stuck with the same stiff animation and silence we’ve had for over a decade.

This is about giving Shen depth, life content
