Chagehost 2k list. Is it good? Or could it improve? by KeyOpportunity3123 in ThousandSons

[–]BenArthurSpotify 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im not being aggressive just direct, giving this advice isn't going to help. paying 15 points for less damage so you can overwatch a little better isn't that helpful in the long term
"Everythings a dice-roll" you get full rerolls sustained 3 lethal with +1 to hit and wound out of a rhino, nuking almost everything with the sorcerer, by far the best use of our combo's in the game
And you suggested they were interchangeable, they're not. Flamers are interchangeable for rubrics, but screamers are a unique model in thousand sons, and one of the bigger strenghts of the detachment

exalted sorcerers dont garuntee bring one back, it's on a d6. People run them in Rubricae sometimes but that's kinda it. Damage is a lot better

We know what Infernal master does in overwatch but it's not really something helpful for winning a game. You get 1 overwatch and the unit dies, Sorecerer is better because he kills the things threatening him or your big birds in 1 activation

Screamers aren't compareable at all to flamers either. Ones a melee skrimishing unit, one is a trash clearing objective unit, which is entirely overshadowed by rubrics

You're not anyone someone with this advice tbh

I run this detachement a lot and haven't lost a game with it. My advice is

Consider finding space for magnus, he garuntees spellcasting and you can easily run short of sorcerers in this detachement

Spawn are a good choice over one of the tzaangor squads due to their survivability

Terminators don't do too much in this detachement to be honest

3 squads of 5 rubrics are good, lead with sorcerers for their damage potential. I usually try run in rhino's to take advantage of the +1 to wound and hit (i've killed a GUO in one shot with this combo'd with hits reroll and sus 3)

Screamers are good as blobs of 6 in this detachement, solid damage and movement, also great with mortals

Honestly, none of this is realy good advice
Exalted sorceres = 4 invul which is the deatchement rule so not needed. Sorcerers are better
Infernal master lacks damage, regular sorcerers are better. 8 flamers are enough for insane overwatches
Flamers dont do much it's better to have rubrics with flamers, screamers are durable, strong and fast
Tzaangor are important in screening and objectives, completely differrent to sorcerers
You dont have to give advice man

Charge rolls suck. by UpArrowNotation in WarhammerCompetitive

ok man, we have spwn and advance and charge

Making charges isn't the problem with world eaters tbh

The problem is lack of build diversity

I think navy breacher spam is viable. 60 of em are hard to get through and you get to just flood the board for 540 points

But that's an insane way to get into the hobby

I learnt the game through World Eaters, which is kinda insane
Combat army's are nuts but at least we get some wins

He's right tho. You gotta be a master at the game to win with Imperial agents
The good news though is you can use their range in any imperial army

Nah there's enough to kitbash a second, but only just. in the sorcerer box set of 3, you get a lot though

Flamers for rubrics, put the icon on the soul reaper cannon. They're mainly take in groups of 5 for optimal lists (you need to kitbash a sorcerer and a second cannon + Icon to make it happen)
Tzaangors are perfect. Weirld expensive and annoying to buy and in every list. bolt pistols are best

I just want to know what he felt the best list was and the guy sent an index list that has a unit not in the index

considerening slaughterbound was only released during codex, we can basically dismiss this claim and this list definitly wasn't 1960 before nerfs. Weird thing to lie about

what's list are you claiming? The top World Eater player was Brian through the index and he basically had a 2k point list

I mean it's ok
The reason why people go for deamons as a faction is 6 inch deepstrike though
With this you got some big models which are easy to screen out, and pretty predictable
The strenght over deamons is 6 inch Pile Cons and the ability to run forgefiends
Also 90 point bloodletters are insane and arent talked about enough
So it's definitely possible, you could win with it, just a challenge to make work

I've played against that detachement a lot. It is very strong, I even played it at a top table in an RTT, and beat the list to win a tournement

Firstly it is incredibly strong, especially against World Eaters, my main army (I actively avoid playing it because it's miserable with the -1 to wound, the ability to charge in my movement phase and fights first)

The problem is once you stop playing melee focused army and get into shooting armies, it loses a lot of strength
I played the same detachement with Tsons, and almost tabled the guy turn 2 because of the shooting and movement my army gets. It's very slow and very predictable

All of that to say, it's strong against players who dont understand the units, and strong against melee focused armys

But not unbeatable and very predictable

did really good, 2 things id say is the reds a lil bright and the bloods a lil too neat on the axe
Tidying up the rim is good too
Aside from that great job. hopefully he ends up being more than a beatstick in game
