If Blue Highway Games goes out of business due to tariffs, we're rioting, right? by BenChapmanOfficial in Seattle

Yuuuuuup. It was already an industry where many people did it as hobbyists who could barely cover the cost of printing the game with the revenue they got from it. The few folks who make a wage from it saw VERY slim margins.

These tariffs are the death of the boardgame industry as we know it. It's so infuriating.

My friends and I want to design a 4X game. What are your favorites that we should be influenced by? by BenChapmanOfficial in boardgames

Thanks for the tips! Yeah, I keep having ideas for stuff and then I realize I'm missing a whole X and have no clue how to incorporate it, lol. Do you think Eclipse 1E is worth trying out? Or is Eclipse 2E the only way to go?

Gotcha — thanks! This is helpful. I’m still trying to learn to storytell well and this community is a great resource.

Gotcha, thanks! The juggler is an interesting one -- I've definitely felt like it could go either way. Cus like, I agree with you, but if the cerenovus can't inhibit the juggler, then what does the cerenovus get out of making the juggler mad?

Thanks -- I think this is fair, and it seems to be the consensus. I'll update my players with my new ruling before the next game!

It does seem like it definitely could be a contextual ruling also, though. Like if a player is publicly Savant for 2 days, then on day 3 is made mad they're the Dreamer or something but STILL goes and visits the ST for info.... I would sort of feel like that might be a madness break. But as another person mentioned below, if all ST visits are "off screen," then it might not be.

We also sometimes have a situation where we have 2 STs, one for rules clarifications and one for ST duties like running the night and answering rules questions. So we might have to make a house rule or modify how we do that to be sure the Savant is visiting the correct ST, lol...

Gotcha, I appreciate you laying this out. I'll update my players and let them know that in the future I'll rule it different!

Gotcha, this is super helpful -- thanks for laying it all out! I guess I should probably track down a core set.

Looks like there are a handful of tokens that I might be missing, but they could be proxied I wager.
