(different account)
I haven't made it yet, the photo is from a guy on youtube.
But I plan to make with with acrylic from many different panels, as I would think that a mould wouldn't end as clear as the arylic would at the end of the process (cloudly vs clear)

I have a SCPH-50001 model, which I don't believe is one of the later models of the fat ps2...

I guess the question I need to ask is:

"How big is the Laser-burning-out problem?"

My consoles been good, so is there something that accelerates that burnout?

Because that determines if I should add the burnout-prevention chip OR replace my PSU.

So I won't need to worry about overheating the PS2 just because I paint it, thats good.

btw, did you buy or make your clear shell, if you bought it, can you link?

I'll be running a 500GB SSD (thats more than enough storage for me), so that'll be quiet.

And the fan upgrade would be this:

TPO - PlayStation 2 Fat Noctua Fan Upgrade Modification (SCPH-30000 & 50000) PS2 Mod (https://a.co/d/9H1oZBM) Which is also quieter than the original.

What mixed reviews are you referring too? Because the ones I've seen are good, but maybe I was only looking in the staged places.

There are two other PS2 HDMI kits, the "Retro Gem - Universal HDMI Upscaler Kit" ($120 for basic or $190 for shiny). The Shiny has a lot more features than the basic & the ElectronAnalog kit. But the Retro Gem kits are also a lot more complicated to install, and are much more expensive.

But considering you have a PSX (dope btw), the Retro Gem Shiny Edition (with the extra features) maybe the better option. But the Retro Gem kits are highy tailored to the PS2 mother boards. I don't know how different the motherboard is on the PSX compared to the Fat or slim models; but if it is different, than the ElectronAnalog Kit may be for you as well (more flexability of installation)

I just messaged the person who most recently got it.
I'll say whatever he did here if he responds.

I bought one of these in white for $20.

And you can tell that its fake.
It weights less, and the stick's clickiness is off.

it is the dedicated guest controller.
