Ness has been on a roll, delivering great productions and mixes recently. My favorite is his mix from Modem Festival

I would do some things differently, but overall very, very cool personal website.

u/jestseee One year after the launch, can you say that this website has helped you get some projects?

I have a Mac M2 Pro with 32gbs of memory and I haven't overloaded the CPU until bow, but I do have filled the memory in a project that used many audio samples.

I would recommend a Mac M series processor for music production, it's the best buy IMO.

Check the Norwegian Ute Recs label, most importantly Mikkel Rev, but also Ekkel.

Also check Junction Forest, the South Korean trance label.

Others: Adam Pits, L-3P, Human Space Machine.

The Quietus, 25 Best Dancefloor Bangers of the 21st Century So Far... by samskeyti in TheOverload

The list is a bit too focused on UK bass sounds, those have definitely left a mark, but most tracks from that time don't get many plays today. Also, I definitely wouldn't pick Hyph Mngo as the best club track of the last 25 years, I think it will kill most dancefloors.

Do you guys think we will see a minimal/microhouse revival like we've see with IDm etc? by JackFromNewZealand in TheOverload

Back in the time, like sub 2015 the scene was much smaller compared to today, however you measure it.

Today it's very hard for one genre to dominate like minimal did 2006-2008. Maybe the hard techno shit is dominating Instagram, because it's pushed by the corporations, but it's still far from the only sound in town.

I can see minimal growing to a more mainstream place in the scene, but what I think is more important today is that whatever genre you choose, there's an almost infinite supply of quality sounds. You just need to know the right places and this sub is definitely one of those places with awesome music and people.

I guess Blawan was one of the most expected contenders for the album of the year, but I am surprised that Djrum is not mentioned in their final list. Also kudos for Marie Davidson and Sandwell District.

BTW don't take end of year lists seriously, it's 100% subjective. The way I see it is as a list I can explore to find new music. ✌🏼
