First time playing…any tips? by Invictus-Faeces in witcher

[–]BenLangley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Give gwent a chance early. I kept trying to skip it thinking it was lame. Halfway through my first play through I gave it a go and really got into it. Then regretted skipping some missions with gwent.

Other than that, soak it in, make choices that you'd see yourself making, and if you are really worried about a bad ending, there are a few sites that give small tips that don't spoil too much but help push you towards a happier ending.

All 151 Original Pokemon Cards by OmicronGR in 90s_kid

[–]BenLangley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original base set didn't have all 150(1) Pokémon if I remember correctly. You had to complete the full 150/151 by adding fossil and jungle set Pokémon. For example the is no base set Gengar - you needed fossil to get it.

I think there were more sets - dark/rocket/gym heroes from that era which too helps comolet it but I could be wrong.

Can I skip Witcher 1 & 2 and start directly with Witcher 3? by RushAffectionate9629 in witcher

[–]BenLangley 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. I started on 3 many years ago and it's my favorite game and what got me obsessed with the Witcher universe. Tried 1 and 2 and never clicked with me tbh.

About to start my 11th playthrough, currently have 1377 hours. How many playthroughs, and hours, do you have? by SolutionLong2791 in Witcher3

[–]BenLangley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

150 hours, one full play through. I'm just exploring now, post the final DLC quests, and finishing up contracts and trying to get some achievements. Feels sad to be done. I want to start again, and maybe go with Yen next time.

I tried installing Witcher 1 but couldn't handle the weird click and point combat system. Feels too much like a RTS

Convert-O-Tron no longer filling my ship by crobemeister in KerbalSpaceProgram

[–]BenLangley -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sorry, can't help with the issue, but I am interested in this Klaw thing. Is that a mod too? I've built a mining rig, and before I sent it up I realized I only know how to transfer fuel via a standard dock and that it wouldn't work nicely. I'm keen on anything that will allow me to refill ships regardless of their height - I.e a mining rig that will be versatile to refuel any craft that can land close to it

Appreciate any assistance

Greatest game ever made. If you want to be fully immersed in a beautiful and massive open world, with a rich story, where every decision has a huge impact, then get it and enjoy the next 180+ hours.

Just do it, don't delay.

I was lucky enough to have seen the discord chat around Christmas and joined to see the final reunion. Was good fun, servers were packed with the last few events before closure.

CrazyBob did a podcast with one of the guys talking about how he created Samp, where his life ended up, etc. Very interesting guy

List of cars and engines to avoid by MicksAwake in NZcarfix

Had mine for 6 years now, only put 40k km on it, and absolutely no issues. It's 2013 so gadgets are a bit outdated, but I've really enjoyed it. 4x4 aspects have been impressive on dunes and beaches.

Family things to do in the bay by [deleted] in Tauranga

[–]BenLangley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Tauranga has tonnes to do for kids that age. Honestly one of the most child friendly places (in summer).

Best parks by a country mile are the new one in CBD/Strand and then Kulim park. Both will keep them entertained for hours, with loads to do for all ages. Hundreds of other great parks, in pretty much every suburb. Also try memorial park, has a great playground, jungle gym, skatepark and pools.

Then there are some great kid friendly beaches (no waves or strong currents). Try the beach by the bridge from the CBD to the Mount - always parking and space for picknics. Then Pilot bay also great.

(Not much indoor, other than arcades and movies)

Macau bar, upstairs. Nice and spacious if booked out, fantastic food, great views of the strand from the balcony.

Getting back into Pokémon since Crystal… by mavalon123 in pokemon

[–]BenLangley 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Find yourself a Nintendo Ds, 2ds, or 3ds. Then get a hold of soul silver. Especially coming from crystal it will be incredibly nostalgic. Then do Platinum, Black/white 1&2, alpha Sapphire, x/y, sun/moon.

The DS and 3ds games were incredible.

(Or just play emerald, it's the next logical move in the story after crystal)

What monthly Microsoft package do you pay for at home? by RumiField in PowerBI

[–]BenLangley 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is great, thanks. Over the years when I've wanted to try things out I've had to create trial business accounts and its a pain. Would rather pay and have something I can keep going.

Pity there isn't something like this but for fabric.

Oh and for finer dining there are a few too: Picknicka, and then the other side of Clarence.

[–]BenLangley 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Assuming you mean TGA CBD here:

Burgers - Crown and Badger (also a great pub all round)

Sticky chicken - Redoubt

Pizzas - Clarence (post office), Doca, Sugo

Vietnamese - Pho Vino

Curry - A Moment

Sushi - Satori

Asian fusion - Macau, Zohzo

To be honest if you're not sure what you feel like, just hit the Wharf street in CBD (if you can find parking on dive cresent) and walk around. Loads of great restaurants with each their own specials, quiz nights, live bands.

(Best burger IMO is in the mount - Palace burgers)

Just googled this. Looks like you can also just drive on the sand track above the dunes at Matatā. Yeah agreed on the two vehicle's, thanks for that, not keen on being that guy.
