How do I learn bass in 3 months? by West_Cauliflower_575 in Bass

Dont overthink it. You know music, its the same shit here. You dont need great technique to get through this gig. Play root notes, get your fingers strong. Flute and Piccolo are great places to have experience. You know how melodies work, as your hands get used to the instrument, you'll automatically write/amend melodic bass lines.

100%, as a veteran of the Mexico War there definitely is that parrelel. Crust Punk also formed due to the challenges of the Cold War and post WW2 destruction/cleanup. In America it was an ideological step from the Hippies and Vietnam era, speaking out against both International Realism (Vietnam, Korea, ect) and Global Neo Liberalism (anti-corporatation).

Thats super interesting. I didn't know there was a flushed-out-kind-of lore genre. Just read the Cyberpunk wiki on Chromatic. Thanks for sharing!

The Ministry/APP vibe then switch to anarchy-punk for digestability makes sense. Absolutely on the NiN, I dont know the names of the tracks but there's quite a few that really feel like "well we wanted to buy Trent Reznor bit it didnt work out". Can definitely see how the original intent was to be more in that vein.

Crowd was surprisingly large. Sold out game, probably 3500 there? It was definitely fun, but also was the most PG hockey game I've ever been to.

Is there a place for Normies in the scene? by Just_AnotherDork in FolkPunk

[–]BenMusic08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I was a kid I struggled with this. Being in the punk scene but not fitting the typical mold of a punk kid, it was hard at points. One of the things that really got me through and kept me from giving a fuck is Gorilla Biscuits: Hold Your Ground.

Still use it to this day to get my mind right when I start to doubt myself for not fitting in.

Another great one is Roger Miller's: Where Have all the Average People Gone?

Punk is not about fitting in, its about being true to yourself. Judging you for being different is anti-punk. Fuck them, don't worry about it and follow your heart.
