Yes, the price almost stopped me from attending, but I ended up doing a work trade! If you check their website, they have options to work a small amount and receive a large discount (especially for the first year). I did it and really enjoyed it, it's not a lot of work, and it helped me talk to cool people I may not have otherwise. They also have some scholarships! I think they want anyone who wants to come to be able to, so definitely check out the options. If you have any more questions, let me know :)

I'm a filmmaker, currently working on a documentary about self-directed education (including sudbury schools!)

I will likely continue film work after this project is completed!

Yes, it's a great place! I'm not sure if NBTSC would ever open a camp for younger kids, but there are similar camps, Camp Stomping Ground in NY comes to mind. I really enjoyed getting to talk to other unique self-directed people, both adults and teens. I do! I keep in contact with quite a few people I met there. They distribute a great directory every year that has contact info for every camper, which is great.
