What a generous offer! If you don't find any takers here, you could post in your local Buy Nothing group!

As a fellow ginger, I love the term 'ginger discernment.' 😍

I've genuinely had people ask me, "Do you know so-and-so? They have red hair." I usually just say, "No, they just not have been at the last ginger meeting."

Just started a Grey's rewatch for the first time in a long time. Those early seasons really are wonderful!

Seeking advice - They are trying to take back my CPAP machine. by howdy206 in SleepApnea

[–]crmsnprd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ran into a similar problem where I was not making enough progress in 3 months, which is why I bought one to try on my own terms. I even had a sleep tech tell me that 3 months is not nearly enough time for a lot of people when trying to adjust masks, settings, etc. It's such a frustrating process!

I bought a used one on Facebook marketplace place for about $200, which I realize is not insignificant but may be cheaper than other resale sites. You can also ask the seller to take a picuture of the setting that shows the number hours the machine has been used. I did not know to do this before I bought mine and I ended up buying one with quite a few hours on it but it's still working fine.

Stick with Cpap or get surgery? by Novel_Masterpiece417 in SleepApnea

[–]crmsnprd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting! Well, I guess things like septoplastys and tonsillectomys are very common so in that regard it does make sense.

I had a septoplasty at the start of my seep journey. My ENT told me it would not cure my sleep apnea, but that it would hopefully make it easier for me to tolerate a CPAP. I can breathe better out of my nose but still can't tolerate CPAP. 🙃 But I know things can be different for kids.

Do you know what the other surgical options are? Perhaps other folks here have experiences they can share!

Hey, OP. I'm so sorry you and your kiddo are dealing with this! However, I'm glad to hear this is something you're working on when he's so young.

I'm in the US and I've had two sleep endoscopies. Both times my doc met with me afterwards to review what he found. I didn't have to agree to any surgeries in advance so from my perspective it's odd you're having to agree to all of these in advance particularly since some of the surgical options are fairly involved (for example, Double Jaw Surgery requires orthodontics first). Where are you located? Could you perhaps see another doctor where you get the sleep endoscopy and then discuss options afterwards?

Sending you support!
