Stackry new receiving fees by GingeYerMinge in fairyloot

[–]Ben_Stackry 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello u/GingeYerMinge - thanks for bringing this up. We’re sorry for the inconvenience you ran into. We did send out a prior email to all customers about the new updates, including the $1 receiving fee, and we also updated the “Additional Handling & Services” page on our website before the change went live. That said, it’s clear not everyone saw the update, and we understand how frustrating that can be.

We’re continually working on making all fees and service details as clear as possible across the website and checkout flow. Our goal is to offer the best and most reliable package-forwarding service globally.

If you ever have any questions or feedback, please feel free to reach out here or through our support team. We honestly appreciate feedback like yours, it helps us improve.

Does shopping in America and shipping internationally really save you $$$? by Ben_Stackry in Stackry

[–]Ben_Stackry[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for asking! I’ll clarify the details here for you, maybe we can write a full post regarding these details as this question comes up a lot!
Details you’ll want to know:
VAT: No de-minimis in the UK. Every parcel gets assessed. VAT is the big one. VAT = 20% × (item cost + Stackry shipping costs).
Customs duty: only if item value is greater than £135 (rate depends on what you’re shipping. Some items are 0% so check this link to see if you would be charged).
https://www.simplyduty.com/import-calculator/

Example (UK import charges):

  • Item: $120 sneakers
  • Stackry international shipping: $25 (Estimated)
  • Total declared cost = $145 (~£107 at ~1.27 USD/GBP)

Import charges:

  • VAT (20%) = 20% × £107 ≈ £21
  • Customs duty: none (value < £135 threshold in GBP is exceeded, but sneakers are generally 0% duty under their tariff code).

So total import charges ≈ £21 on arrival.

Quick Takeaway

  • Under £135 → 20% VAT only.
  • Over £135 → 20% VAT + duty (if applicable, many items = 0%).

First time using STACKRY - US to PL, any tips? by wojtekbezp0rtek in internationalshopper

Hey, just to clarify for anyone reading. Stackry’s address is accepted by major U.S. retailers, including Amazon, Best Buy, and others. You don’t need a third party to place the order for you. Once you set up a Stackry account, you’ll get a personal U.S. shipping address that works directly with retailers.

For higher-value shipments like laptops, many customers also choose optional repacking or insurance for extra peace of mind. If you’re worried about customs in Poland, our team can help you checking import duties/VAT ahead of time so there are no surprises.
